I just purchased these headphones and man, they are absolutely awesome. Was just posting to see if others have tried these or any other HyperX headphones cause I hadn't heard of the company before. These are pretty pricey for headphones ($150 new but I purchased them refurbished for $90 less) but wow, the Dolby Surround 7.1 sound is impressive and I'm no audiophile at all so I don't what I'm talking about but I swear the sounds are just.... I dunno... so crisp.. if that's right word.. compared to almost all the other headphones I've ever used. Music sounds amazing, to me a non audiophile so take it with a grain of salt but man I'm impressed. Any others with experience with these specific headphones or HyperX headphones in general?

I'd bought the HyperX Cloud Stinger for around $47 but had to return them. The mic had constant noise that made it unusable. They offered support only to foreign countries and I wasn't able to solve the issue alone, so I had no choice.

Since then, it seems they at least offer e-mail support now. But they've also been bought out by HP, and I completely despise them. If I ever buy any similar hardware, I'll probably keep my crummy made-up brand headphones and get a separate mic.

I have Cloud Alpha for 3.5 years now. Regular headphones, no surround, not USB, and don't use the mic, so good thing it's detachable, took it off before even putting them on and it and stayed off. They were uncomfortable at first, especially since I'm wearing glasses and trying to wear them over them was giving me awful headaches, but I learned to settle the glasses above the earcups and once the headband broke in a bit to be less tight they were just fine. And the sound quality initially made me realize how poor my old ones had it. Though I must say that the really cheap ones I use for my phone have better highs, but not something I'd particularly complain about.

Speaking of HyperX, if we're going to be doing a whole sales bit, I'd love to sell the entire forum on the HyperX Sponsored Retronauts, a long running (longer than most podcasts) retro gaming discussion podcast, hosted by Jeremy Parish, Bob Mackie and many other good types.
