I think you tricked yourself and it is Shroud. I found this thread while doing a search for GOG specific results with "Ultima Online" as the query.

DD & Ji Ji: I think i saw this kind of description in a game release topic but can't remember where .
I recently purchased on dlsite, and although it's not ultima online, on gog, etc., it is DRM free, and i think it might tickle the same fancies. No worries, the version i linked is in english.
