I'm hunting in this year for some better deal for BASIC GalCiv III on GoG, last discount was about some silly 25%, I presume?. I can't even dream about such discount (like the linked one) on GOG on basic game.

I can't even say how much this annoys me, that so many games from GOG's catalogue were rarely and poorly discounted (or not discounted at all) for months, some for years.

Yeah, i'm not sure what changed in recent years, but some of the discounts on gog have been rather bad lately compared to earlier.

GOG may be losing money and trying to get into the positive.

Appears to me 2018 results are much worse than 2017 results. (Have no idea why though.)

That's because you did not look hard enough. There is an ongoing 20% discount as a series, but that only includes the base game+crusade.

If that is enough compared to how often or how low the game goes on sale in other stores that is another discussion.

IIRC Stardock where usual late to the party in past seasonal gog sales. Still lack a few GC3 DLCs. Was ready to just wait it out till a final version is out and on deep sale but I'd consider grabbing the lacking DLCs sooner if they where on some 80% - 90% discount.

If not... oh well. Have not touched the game in over a year because that ever changing madness. I can stand that in MMORPGs but on a 4x I learned to loathe it.

Yep, it's not the first time that fanatical have had an awesome deal far far in excess of what is seen on gog. It's even more annoying the fact that there is always ongoing overlapping "sales" ongoing here with very little actually on sale or at a decent discount.
