got like a 2015 laptop, not gaming, but looking to play an older game

I'd like to play maybe a strategy or RPG, just not sure .

I'd like to play maybe Might and magic 7, or master of magic, maybe dune 2000

can you suggest a game that you think I might like?

Thanks

Hm, how could we know what you might like, apart from the three titles you already mention yourself? Maybe you'd like, er ... Might & Magic 6, have you heard of that one? ;)

Seriously though there are so many old RPGs and strategy games that you can run on your laptop that it would be kind of pointless to list them here, without knowing what youre looking for specifically. :)

Goldbox / Forgotten Realms Collections should work, Infinity Engine games should work, Spiderweb Software RPGs should work, Ultima series etc., etc.

Not to mention the countless of hours you can spend with might and magic 6 - 10 , the whole Command and Conquer series or the new released upgraded masters of magic ....

tbh i do find it a bit lame your not able to name one

I don't quite follow, was that directed at me?
Try Ultima 1, and then work your way forward from there, all the way to Ultima IX.

Then you can call yourself a grandmaster gamer. Do the same also to the King's Quest games and Final Fantasy, including the spin-offs like Mystic Quest or whatever the heck it was called.

Yes of course. You name this or that with a lot of grumpyness involved, is it that hard to just name a title i wonder?
Sure everyone is entitled to their way of communicating, no biggie there but it does look lame responding in such a a manner

I did name a title, if you look closely. And then I went on and named several series, which include more than one title. The grumpiness is what you're reading into my words, not in the words themselves. It's not hard at all to name a random title, I just pointed out that it's pretty pointless before learning more about the OP's preferences.

I can't name anything that the OP might like because I know nothing about the OP yet. I can name what *I* like, e.g. "Play Planescape: Torment!", but it might be the complete opposite of what the OP's looking for, since it's nothing like Might & Magic, there is a lot of reading involved, character building and combat aren't the main focus, it's real time instead of turn-based, also, it's hardly an insider's tip and the OP might have played it already etc.

It's just more productive if the OP gives us something to work with, describing what kinds of game they're looking for, other than the very broad term RPG, because otherwise they could just look up all the RPGs on GOG older than 2015 or so.

But okay, if it's about naming a single title that *we* like ourselves and that the OP is less likely to have played yet, I recommend getting Forgotten Realms: The Archives Collection Two and then setting up Forgotten Realms Unlimited Adventures from that pack to work with the countless hacked adventure modules available for free download. See here.

Since you like strategy + Might and Magic 7, you should definitely check out Heroes of Might and Magic III.
If you like turn-base fantasy strategy, i suggest you try Disciples 2.
forager is a great game to try.
Into the Breach
- Puzzle tactical stategy
UnderRail
- Isometric tactical RPG
Xenonauts
- Kinda like old school X-Com
Wizardry 8
-First person RPG

All on GOG.

Most roguelikes like Tales of Maj'Eyal and Caves of Qud require very little from setups.

What are your basic specs?

I feel humble when compared to the likes of you.....
In fact so humble i will take up that advice and see what this, so far, undiscovered plane of gaming will bring to my gaming soul !
Shadowrun Dragonfall, and Shadowrun Hong Kong are really fun, and are here on GOG!
