[This is a sticky post, it will be visible in every single page of this thread. It has been published in October 2020.]

Our moderation team decided not to take a side in the discussion since this giveaway thread was created by the community and, as long as there are no forum rules violated, is up to you, dear Gogers, to decide its fate. We will not set giveaway rules, edit the OP's post, nor lock the whole thread.

However, to make it easier for newcomers to understand the situation (about the OP being inactive and other), I will stick my own post right above the first one.

You are, of course, free to create new threads to start anew and make your own, clear rules. At the same time, please stay reasonable when crating them, as multiple new duplicates might make it even more confusing for many Gogers.

That being said, here you can find a post with dxenija's community poll to have better understanding of the situation: CLICK.

At the time of writing, open giveaway threads are:
- Massive Giveaways Blog (this one)
- Free (temporary) keys giveaway central topic.
- Updated Itch.io giveaways

Be nice to each other *flies away*

Way To Go free on Indiegala.
You can get The Witcher Enhanced Edition for free if you install GOG Galaxy.
https://www.gog.com/the_witcher_hub

"Start your adventure in Northern Kingdoms with The Witcher: Enhanced Edition game available as a gift if you install the GOG GALAXY client."

I'm not sure if this started now as an event for being the withcer 3 anniversary or if it was always working, if it's the 2nd I'm so sorry guys.

_Slaugh_: ① The full version of Republique؜, a stealth action-adventure game once available on GOG, is temporarily free on the App Store (iOS). The first episode is always free, but episodes 2-5 are only available through in-app purchases. They are now free for a limited time, and you need to unlock each one separately, as the Season Pass is currently at full price. A 3-part documentary is also available for free. Here's a gameplay video؜ of the mobile version.
Not sure why but, I can’t seem to find a way to unlock the episodes separately. There’s only this “unlock full game” option in the purchase window (along with “making of” and “soundtrack”, to be precise). Did I miss anything?

Well, if you unlock the full game, you should get all the episodes. Unless they are making you pay for the full game?

No, it was a temporary glitch with the App Store or the game itself, and it only lasted a few minutes or an hour or two.  The option for buying episodes separately has now mysteriously vanished from the app, and the only remaining option is to purchase the whole Season Pass at full price.  Strangely, the free in-app purchases are still listed on the App Store page.  I've removed the deal from my previous post to avoid any confusion.  Sorry about that.

Oh, that’s sad:(
The misleading info on the App Store page showing the separate episodes as free has been there for quite some time though (maybe even for years?), for I just happened to download it (a 3GB+ game) and learn it the hard way months ago ;)
Btw, is there an easy way to trace sales of iaps?

Yep, the season pass still charges for full price (actually, _Slaugh did mention this part in their original post;)

Does anyone know what this is about? A banner for "free Bethesda games" (Arena and Daggerfall) on GOG Galaxy, but as far as I know these games aren't even on the catalog. The banner takes you to a 404 page.

Not that I terribly want them, I'm pretty sure I already have them, but this seems like a weird glitch.

They come free with most Bethesda games, but you cannot get them without buying at least one Bethesda game (which is why they are not on the catalogue).

For example, read the first two lines of the description of Morrowind:
https://www.gog.com/game/the_elder_scrolls_iii_morrowind_goty_edition

Most Bethesda games have the same two lines.

It's been like this for about 7 years now.

Yes, but the banner specifically says "Some Good Old Games from Bethesda go free!" as if it's implying they weren't before or whatever.

Yes, I just saw that too. Kind of misleading and weird that it goes to a 404 page.
It's free on steam. I just got it on there.

Agreed, I'm not sure why they just suddenly popped it up on there. I mean, I've had both on GOG pretty much since I joined, as one of the first reasons I stuck around the site was for Redguard and Battlespire which used to only be available here.
You can get Elder Scrolls:Arena and Elder Scrolls:Daggerfall free directly from Bethesda without Steam's DRM.
It will be pretty much exactly the same as if you downloaded the offline installers from GoG without using Galaxy.
Here are the links:
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/arena
https://elderscrolls.bethesda.net/en/daggerfall
Arena's been free for almost a decade, Daggerfall at least 5 years.

The main issue is that, at least the last time I checked, the ones on Bethesda's site are not the CD versions, which are better overall. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there are fan-made patches that fix that but yeah, it takes a little more tweaking than the version that's on GOG (and probably Steam; haven't tried that version yet).
