I'm playing recently in first Cyberstorm, but I feel that I got "stuck" with mission (which is probably mandatory to pass) where you're attacking Cybrids' headquarters.

Even if I'm letting my two Demons (strongest variant of Herc) forward and walking with cautious (and attacking with all I have when I see the strongest Cybrid units), I'm still receiving massive fire at some point, which is causing at least 2 of my units obliterated. I've even tried with packing Demons with the best shields and armor, plus I've modified in most of my HERCs default weapons to have better results (Have two daemons, two ogres, one giant and, two senseis).

Am I missing something? My HERCs barely counterattack in such cases, which is even worse.

Nevermind, I've beaten this mission, all I needed was collecting some more cash on mining operations, then enhancing my HERCs (bought additional Giant and Daemon, improved gear and weapons to almost all robots, quite important was improving sensors for both Sensei, plus using tactic "hit and run" to not fight with too many Cybrids at the same time.

I totally remember this mission because it ended the game for me on every try I've ever had at it.

Bought the game on initial release and this one smoked me every time. Restarted shortly thereafter, did like you and mined like crazy, tricked out my Hercs - same result.

I even played it again a few years back - I'm actually almost positive I didn't have to tweak it to get it to run / install on Win 7 (though I could be wrong?). SAME mission lit me up every time. I think it closes out the first true chapter of the game.

Like you, the most recent time I thought I finally cracked the code with "stand off tactics" - long range sensors pinning down the enemy in advance, then dart in and out at the "outlier" enemies with super strong HERCs. Nope - still never could get it.

LOVE this game otherwise by the way. The insane amount of attention and customization of your HERCS (weight and heat management, variety of weapons, even PILOT CHOICE) is just great. This is sort of what I hoped Battletech would be - can't wait to try that one actually.
Ouch, I feel your pain, I've needed a couple of attempts to finally make it without loses. By some reason, I've got impression that Cybrids have in this mission machines comparable to Reaper class, available (for player) in next planet system.

I admit though I've improved my chances when I've started not only paying attention to gear my HERCs have (stronger variants of lasers and cannons, better targeting computers (bigger hit chance is quite important) and add-ons("dodge" add-on), improved sensors), but also to make more "detailed" shooting to enemy - first using lasers from ogres and Daemons to bring down shield (remembering to attack from the same side, since other shields are intacted) and then attacking with cannons (Giants, minor weapon of Ogres) and rockets (Daemons, Senseis additionaly if the strong Cybrid is still standing), also from the same side.

Heavy turrets have incredibly long range, so they're also quite annoying.

Now, when I've summed it up, I'm quite impressed that game is having so complex content, yet it seems to be relatively fine to "learn", especially due to the fact that help files didn't work in my case (IIRC, those were in format for older windows "help" app) and I've needed to figure out on my own.

BTW - I personally had some issues with "vanilla" Missionforce: Cyberstorm, but there is nice patch made by one of the fans of the game, which is allowing to run game without any issues even in Windows 10 (also with Windows 8.1 and 7).
