First of all, im from America and I have read some older threads that had mixed results as far as debit cards working as a payment method on GOG. Do they? Or not? And maybe something has changed since those old threads. So I'm here trying to get some light shined on the topic.

It's my understanding that GOG is European based and this is why certain card types get rejected on the GOG website when they are restricted to certain countries like US/Canada. I sure wished GOG had gift cards like Steam does.

And what about prepaid Visa or MasterCards? Do they work on GOG without issue?

Someone mentioned real credit cards are mostly the only trouble dodging way of buying games on GOG.

I don't use PayPal by the way so I need some other form of payment options.

TLDR: As an American, what exactly are my payment options to buy games on GOG?
Anyone ? Thanks.
Not sure how it would work for you (in the USA), but i only use PAYSAFE vouchers now. It's been a total eye-opener in terms of security online and i'm truly grateful GOG offers that awesome option.

They should, as long as you register your name to the card. There will be a web site on the back of the card where you can register your name/address/phone number. GOG only asks for your name, but if you don't have one assigned to the card I believe GOG will decline the transaction.

I know in Canada that Visa Debit cards work; it's a debit card, but it functions like a credit card when purchasing online, with the money being deducted from your account instead of being added to an amount owing. I'm not sure that will apply to all debit cards though.

You can see a list of all payment methods here:
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/212184449-What-payment-methods-and-currencies-do-you-accept-and-where-

As per the article
If your country (based on your IP address) is supported by these payment methods, they will be made available to you in Checkout.
So you could add a game to your cart, try to check out, and see what options you have. You will have the chance to back out before finalizing the purchase.
