Wonder how much we get to pay for the privilege...
Or if it will be a Bard's Tale 4 exclusive extra / DLC
That's great news! It looks exactly how remaster should look, I think.
I doubt it'd be free. It's not Simon-the-Sorcerer-like 5-minutes effort to make sth like that.
Thanks for the heads up!
Can't find anything interesting in Krome Studios PC history for me but we'll see : )
To be honest, I've bought Bard's Tale recently here just to get classic trilogy.
Now I'd rather wait a bit with playing them as automapping and a few modern features in remastered version will make it a bit easier ;) If they keep the original content and focus on proper improvements, it's worth paying IMO. At least - I'm ready to pay some reasonable price for this kind of job.
Reminds me a bit about the newer version of Monkey Island.
To be sincere, I like the original more.

You will pay a lot, you will get nothing. Will beamdog get thief extra super Caribbean trip of a lifetime this year, defo! Oh it's not beamdog, poor missed opportunity.

Worth noting:

The Apple IIgs version of Bard's Tale 2 (which is the one included with the 2004 game, I believe) has automapping.

All versions of Bard's Tale 3 have automapping. (There's actually a few spells, available later in the game, that show certain things on the automap.)

So yes, you can play the second and third game with automapping.

(Also, I note that these two games (albeit only some versions of 2, but the Apple IIgs versions of one of them) allow you to save anywhere; there's actually a way to exploit the save system to duplicate characters.)

Edit: Actually, in BT2, even in versions that let you save anywhere, you still can't save in a death snare. Of course, you can save right *before* the death snare, and reload if you fail it; there's actually one instance where this ruins the challenge.

well if the "updated" Wasteland 1 was when Wasteland 2 was coming out any indication it will probably be a seperate release. Then again it could be wishful thinking on my part
So Bard's Tale is not coming to GOG?
