When you check steam's recommendations or google this you get pretty random results, so which (good) games actually play like Bastion? Isometric perspective hack 'n slash/beat 'em up with some crafting and/or skill tree/slots, leveling, some movement focus in combos and dodging (unlike Diablo), hub map with some non-linearity (or a more interconnected world), etc.
I am not really looking for rogue-lites here, unless they are of the diablo variety where the world randomizes between playthroughs only and not after death and don't focus on meta progression to get anywhere. Also haven't quite beaten this game yet btw.

I know some later Ys games are similar, just top down/bird's eye view. And I know of the devs' other games.

Some games I've played that are similar:
Landstalker - Also a platformer and a Zelda-like
Light Crusader - Puzzle platformer/hack 'n slash hybrid structured like Diablo 1

Kinda sorta similar:
Solstice - A puzzle platformer which takes place in one big dungeon
Super Mario RPG - RPG battle encounters and party-based. A platformer outside of battle, with some mini-games
Mystic Towers - Similar to Solstice
Alienation (PS4) - Someone recommended this, but it seems more like Smash TV.

Bastion is made by Supergaint games, have you looked their other games? Hades and Transistor? (probably not Pyre)

and then there are games like Hyper Light Drifter and Moonlighter - is this the kind of thing you are after?

Yes as I said I know about their other games, I actually own them besides Hades.

Also have Hyper Light Drifter and had a look at the other one now, those are similar in most ways except for lacking the isometric perspective and gameplay.
I recommend Shadows: Awakening, it's a very good game: https://www.gog.com/game/shadows_awakening

agrre very good game ,but that isnt close to this game

get Hades ,best game in this category from the same devs
Hades looks cool but I'm skeptical since I didn't like Spelunky or Rogue Legacy.

Shadows: Awakening looks good but seems overlooked, what do you like about it and how is it similar?

Bastion is in my backlog along with tons of other games, so without having played it, I can't directly compare how similar, or not, it is to Shadows. Definitely Shadows is overlooked.

What do I like about Shadows:

- it has a surprisingly strong story which is much more rich than what most other ARPGs have to offer (Shadow's storytelling is way better than in Diablo or Path of Exile or Grim Dawn, for examples)

- some of the voice acting performances are amazing, especially the narrator character, played by Tom Baker, who is the same actor who played Dr. Who on TV in the 1970s

- the dialogues are very creative and unique, and so are many of the creatures in the world

- you have a lot of freedom to choose which characters to take into your party, and which skills you want to equip them with, and which attributes you want to boost on them, and what gear you want to give them, etc.

- the gameplay is based on an interesting interplay between the real world and the spirit world, which you can transfer between whenever you want

Appreciate it! While it might not be quite the same it sounds promising, I'll keep an eye on it.

Bastion is a single avatar affair and you can dodge roll, manually block (with a timing option for a counter-attack with the shield, using it like a buckler) and strafe while using ranged weapons, so it's more like Zelda or some later Ys games in terms of combat.

Bastion is not anything like Diablo, H'n'S games. It's more an Action Adventure game.
Personally I hated it. Too much console "inspiration". Controls were like controlling a tank. Hitboxes were off. Damn narrator spoke during action, making you either miss what he said, or fumble the attacks.
If you want similar games though, try Hyperlight Drifter, Moonlighter, Hades. I didn't like them either by the way.

Dude I know, it's still clearly similar in several ways. And I didn't ask if people like it or not.

It does not have tank controls but I can agree that there are some hit detection issues here and there. Obviously I'm not looking for games with the same objective flaws lol.

Still not looking for rogue-lites.
