Asimov would be proud…

SOMA, a new take on horror from the creators of Amnesia, is now available for pre-orders with a 10% discount on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com

Frictional Games, the guys behind awesome horror series including Amnesia and Penumbra, are back for another shot of fear. But this time around, they're doing things differently. While at first glance SOMA is still a first person game with focus on exploration and a discomforting atmosphere - the real innovation lies in the creative process, and produces an end result that's so much different than the usual jump-scare fare.
Drawing inspiration from the works of Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick and Robert A. Heinlein. SOMA is a sci-fi horror game that relies on a finely crafted setting to ask the hard questions and tackle unique existentialist issues - deal with the idea of free will, subjective experience, and machine-consciousness. In SOMA, you'll experience tension through an unbelievable atmosphere and sound design, and discover the fascinating story through your own actions.

Don't scream, ponder the depths of existence. Pre-order SOMA today, DRM-free on GOG.com.
I will pre-order only if you release a playable DEMO for Windows, Mac and Linux.
Not going to pre-order, but I've been following this for a while and I'm looking forward to it.
Hopefully this will be a return to form for Frictional Games.
Just a note to our Linux friends, this game is being ported by Aaron of Knockout Games, the same guy who ported Shadow Warrior (new one) to Linux. His ports are very good and I'm expecting the same quality with this :D
Looks interesting. Wishlisted.
I remember watching this video some time ago and I was super intrigued:

Can't pre-order after A Machine for Pigs, but it's definitely getting wishlisted.

That was a... mis-step made by another company. Hopefully they won't be making that misstake again (farming out that is).

You might wanna put another "r" in "horror"... unless this new take is so terrifying the second "r" ran away in fear
Yeah, don't mix it up!

Penumbra, Amnesia: Dark Descent and SOMA are made by Frictional Games.

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs is made by Chinese Room, the creators of Dear Esther.

Even though both companies are quite talented, they focus on quite different aspects in games.

Hope in future devs will think twice before giving their awesome franchise to some noobs whose entire fame comes from a friggin' walking simulator. And not a very good one at that.
Glad this isn't regionally priced, but I'm going to skip preorder too.

I remember seeing a video about an OnLive indie showdown where Chinese Room's Dan Pinchback, a guy with a very british name, says something damn interesting about Dear Esther. Can't find the youtube link, though.
But what a game it is -yes, I've played it more than 5 times-, folks.
Unfortunately I didn't get the right chance to give Pigs a real go, but judging from D.E.'s overall writing, stunning visual quality and most of all top notch dialogues (more like monologue) I'd say SOMA looks passionately promising. :)
