There is something weird going on with the saved games in Dark Corners of the Earth. The load screen only shows 5 save slots and when they are full, I try to overwrite them and it appears to not work; namely the save games in those 5 slots stays the same. But then if I check the local file where the save games are stored, I can see all my saves, and they are way more than 5. But to get the latest save to show up in the load screen, I need to manually delete the save game files in the local file so that there is only 1 or 2 save games left.

The weird thing is, later after a computer or GoG restart ALL the save games that I have deleted are back, so everytime I need to start the game I need to re-delete all the save games except the most recent.

Is there a better way or some way to deal with this? There must be something better.

It was designed for Win xp, iirc, so you might need to go into compatibility mode and set it to run as admin. There might be something else, but I can't think of anything right now.
Make sure you do not install to windows folders (this goes for any software, ever), install to something like c:/mygames. Next, are you using galaxy? If so you likely have cloud saves enabled which it is syncing when you start the game. My opinion, uninstall galaxy and then run just the application.
Sounds like you installed the game on C drive and don't have WIndows admin rights by default, thus the game doesn't have the ability to overwrite the save files. Either run the game as admin or install elsewhere (e. g. any folder that is not managed by Windows).
i didn't like that i was forced by the game to save the "punk" - or at least try to. and i paid dearly for it too! :'( that dewd reminds me of leonardo di caprio or that OTHER dude from saving private brian. noops... :-/

So it looks like the game is installed here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Galaxy\Games\Call of Cthulhu

and my save games are installed here:
C:\Users\...\Documents\Bethesda\Call of Cthulhu

Are either of those locations part of the problem you are mentioning?

Windows has something called UAC which controls access to its folders, so includes program files (x86), and program files, and all other windows folders. Create your own folder structure outside of this arrangement, for example:
C:/mygames
C:/myprograms
Etc. Never install anything to windows controlled folders, it can break anything which requires access to files on the hard drive.
