ChunkyMonkeyIce: paradox launcher in the windows versions and registration for a paradox account needed for multiplayer. not 100% DRM-free in my opinion.

ConsulCaesar: At least for Stellaris, I play the game directly from the exe on the installation folder, works offline and the Paradox launcher doesn't run.

ChunkyMonkeyIce: you know... i can say the same about victoria 3 steam version on mac.
I have been playing Stellaris for years, but never even installed the Paradox Launcher, not even the build that is shipped with the game. And I obviously do not have a Paradox account.

So no, it can not be compared to any kind of Steam build, at least for solo play.

On the other hand the multiplayer mode is fully locked behind DRM, no doubt about that. This is a shame, because I have friend I would have loved to play this game with.
drm free means for me not to be annoyed all the time and everywhere with registrations and log-ins and having to leave data everywhere to play a game. with the paradox games from gog i have pretty much the same experience as when i play them offline via steam.
