DreamedArtist: Tried it out, I have to say it's interesting I might keep it for regular work but not gaming yet. I will try some 8-bit wars after with it to see how it does with RTS games.
Yeah. I had a different trackball, the trackman marble for a while. After a while, I found going back to typical trackpads and mice a little cumbersome.
Elecom look like they have the best trackball shape out at the moment.

Logtitech have really dropped the trackball over the years which is strange because they had a proper big one at the start of this century. The least they could do is make a bigger trackman marble with a scroll wheel and slightly better button placement.

P.S I liked graphics tablets for RTS games when they are supported properly because you tap exactly on the tablet and have your cursor instantly jump to that position instead of having to swipe and drag your mouse.

Spectre: Does razer still have its drm in it's drivers and configuration program?
You got "its" right the first time and then used the wrong one. Why.

Sorry I can't actually contribute to the topic, go mark me as spam.
I'm using a cheap-ish Logitech mouse and it's served me well, but since I also use mouse with my left hand it's not one of the fancier ones, and I've never tried playing competitive online shooters with it.
Logitech is alright though, in my experience. Roccat also, though last mouse I had from them kinda fell apart after 1-2 years of heavy use.

I'm going to be honest, I'm finding that an absurd amount of buttons. On the other hand, my mouse has four buttons. (It's the Kensington Expert wired, and I got it as an inheritance from an old computer, which is a cool thing.)
From what i've read Razer's quality control seems to be really hit or miss. I've also seen a lot of "Pros" using a mouse from Zowie so that might be the safer bet. Take this post with a grain of salt though, I've never bought anything from either brand before. However if i was in the market for a new mouse, between those two i'd personally be looking at Zowie. I'm currently using a Logitech mouse though.

I have a Razer Blackwidow. One of the LEDs failed a couple months in and something with the slider or the spring broke in another of the keys broke a little while ago. In the former's case, the key functions fine other than the light. In the latter's case the key has lost the trademark click of a cherry blue and the key has lost some of its stiffness and responsiveness, causing me to bottom it quite easily. It's not too difficult to replace them but it is a process and kind of time consuming.
