Here's an example:

https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/hollow_knight_silksong

- No visible pictures or videos
- Links to youtube videos and external sites can't be clicked on, are only accessible if copied and pasted from the jungle of poorly developed code
- Same garbage in the comment section

Now let's look at how steam does it:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1030300/Hollow_Knight_Silksong/

Steam has none of these issues. Everything looks clean, there's a lot of information and links to external sites are all neatly placed in one section.

And in the case of GOG, it looked like that for years. GOG will never succeed if they don't even put the minimum amount of work needed to make their website attractive.

Look at yourself in the mirror, GOG.

No wonder nobody wants you.

You disgust me sometimes.

The two pages you've are incomparable different things though.
GOG's is a wishlist/request page and Steam's is an coming soon/planned to release page.
GOG also has cooming soon pages.

Like this for the same game.

Although I do agree it could be cleaned up. Or at least allow links.
It's probably for liability though. If any shmo could put direct hyperlinks, it could get ugly.

Also that last part was unnecessary lol

You're wrong.

That's because Silksong is already confirmed for GOG, so it has a pretty page.

Now show me a beautiful, not bug ridden page for this game on GOG:

You've resolved your own initial complaint.

The GOG Silksong is CONFIRMED so it gets a pretty page.
The Steam Silksong is CONFIRMED so it gets a pretty page.

Kingdom Rush Vengeance and all the other games on the WISHLIST are NOT CONFIRMED.
It's a request page, so it gets that trash page.

Now if GOG's CONFIRMED page looked like trash, then yea i would also be disappointed.

I don't think anyone from GoG has even looked at the wishlist for ages. I mean, just compare the new releases section of the shop against the wishlist, you see the staff didn't go to the trouble of marking them as completed, which is an absolutely trivial task.

So if a game is not confirmed, then it deseves a broken, underdeveloped wishlist entry?

This has to be the dumbest argument anyone has ever made.

You are almost correct. Your arguement is very dumb, but I have witnessed dumber.

Chris, I get what you're saying, but your presentation was not so great.

During the times that Greenlight and other things existed on Steam, they did have proper pages of presentation so that they could indeed provide a visual request, but keep in mind that was devs and pubs trying to earn the interest of a userbase.

On GOG, the whole thing is flipped around. It's users trying to get the attention of devs and publishers, along with GOG.

We don't even get to know who is vying to get onto GOG, it's a very opaque process, and there have been suggestions in the past on the matters of trying to fix that, ranging from bidding wars to voting processes and more.

I was talking about his, in case you're not too bright to realize that.

Also, there's no such word as "arguement", whatever that means.

You are barking up the wrong tree.

The Steam page you provided as an example is not a request. It is set up by the developer/publisher with the intent on releasing the game in the future. GOG has an equivalent with "Coming Soon" page.

The Community Wishlist section is a tool for the customers, bringing attention to GOG of want games they want.
