After spending the week looking into The Dark Eye video games, I've come to the curious case of Realms of Arkania Blade of Destiny. Remade in 2013, it was pretty bugged and has gotten universally poor scores, but I've heard that since the game's been patched, fixed, and is actually a pretty decent old school dungeon crawler. I'm intrigued... has anyone here played this and have thoughts to share? Would love to hear them!!

There was too much problems with the game in the past. I gave up on it eventually. :/

There's a better game now, called: "Realms of Arkania: Star Trail". Their second game, I think. I haven't played it yet tho. But seems like it's a lot more stable then the Blade of Destiny.

Yeah, I heard release was pretty terrible, but some are saying the game is quite playable now.

I played it a while after release (it was in some bundle or other), and while there was some enjoyment, there were plenty of issues as well - from bugs and glitches, to terrible optimisation and some bad design.
Of course, if you buy it at such a reduced price, those problems are lowered.

Yeah, it looks pretty interesting.

Devs said that they want to release the game on GOG, and are discussing about it with GOG-bear. But that was like a year ago. :/ So waiting for GOG-bear to makeup it's mind, one day, hopefully.
