Ancient-Red-Dragon: Baldur's Gate 2 is certainly nowhere close to being "the best game of all time."
And hack and slash games are generally quite terrible since they rely on endlessly repetitive grinding of the same trash mobs over and over again in hopes to win an RNG lottery.
Yes, i have noticed that as well. You develop a couple of skills for you character and then you just spam their over and over again.
You fall into a loop.
Worst of all, these games require a lot of commitnent since if you exit the game the whole world state gets "reloaded", and so you need to kill all the mobs again. Or if the game crashes on you... I am playing Diablo 2 and i have had many situations where the game crashed on me after i had slaughtered dozens of mobs to clear the way.
