Last year, Devil's Dare was pulled from GOG along with many other games, and now next year, the Steam version will be getting a huge update/rename called Streets of Red: DDD. However, support for the GOG version has not been mentioned so far, and they've promised everyone would get the update.

https://twitter.com/StreetsOfRedDDD/status/1072167513440477184

I emailed them asking if the game would return to GOG, or at least update it here for those who have it. GOG did update the game recently after it left the store, can anyone working for GOG confirm if the Streets of Red update will be coming here?

If it doesn't come back here soon... I guess GOG customers will have to start Steam Key begging to the devs.

Got an email back. The responses seem a little strange, but it seems very few even bought the game on GOG.

"Can I check with you how much owners are there for Devil's Dare on GOG?
I remember it was very little so I didn't send in an invoice back then. Could check and verify?

As for the free Steam Key, let me finalize what can be done for steam first.
Tbh, they haven't got back to me, so I am not sure what is going to be the solution atm."

So I guess it doesn't look good for GOG customers? Could any GOG owners maybe raise their hand if they bought Devil's Dare on here? And maybe some blues should contact rayteoactive@hotmail.com to give them an accurate sales number.
I have this game on GOG, and I've been looking forward to playing it.

I'll be sad if we won't get the update.
IIRC the game was removed because GoG changed their legal location and required new updated contracts. They couldn't contact the dev of Devil's Dare and removed the game because of it. Maybe you can get the dev to contact GoG. Is he even aware the game was removed? That would explain why there hasn't been revenue from GoG in a while.

Maybe try and convince the dev to renew the contract with GoG?

[EDIT] I too have Devil's Dare here.

Sent them another email, told them there was some interest in getting Streets of Red on GOG and that they should contact GOG themselves for sales data, so all that's left to do is wait.

If more people would vote for it on the Wishlist at the OP, that would help a lot.
New response:

"Oh geez, sorry about that. I thought you were from GOG. I must have gotten the name wrong!
Tbh, we didn't make much money from GOG as you can guess and hence decided to discontinue distribution on the platform.
The problem is I have little ways to track who bought the game and who didn't, so this is more of a technical problem. If a few buys like yourself write in to me personally, I should be able to provide some free steam codes. But if there's too many request, I might need to figure something out with GOG. But given that the game is no longer on the platform, that's going to be hard :/"

Looks like it's going to be Steam only unless enough people email him for Steam keys and vote for it on the Wishlist.

I used the rayteoactive email address at the top of the page to contact him.

"Nice".

Another game I bought here, which will never be updated to the newest version.

Since I despise Steam and will never buy/register there now I would have to pirate the upcoming version as "update" for my legal GOG version.

"Thanks a lot" publisher. :(

I *highly* recommend you email the dev and ask if they could provide some kind of alternative arrangement (e.g. a bare download). If enough people show interest in a non-steam version, they might consider that.

In fact, I'm gonna do just that but I hope others do so too...

Email the developer (address is in this thread) and let them know the situation they've left you in, but don't be rude even if you're pissed off. I can pretty much guarantee that they won't feel like helping if you just vent all your anger at them.
