I love but hate the sales I already got a back log and just bought 6 games from gog which 2 are sets which are Tex murphy and tales of monkey island. Also I just recently bought 3 games on steam not to mention new titles I have bought not played. I just cant decide which game to play first. think it might be the Tex murphy series from start to end including the Tesla effect which I use to love FMV games. I played the very 1st one for a couple of minutes and looks good even for a old dos game. But cant make my final decision. Do you have a hard time picking back log games?
Wait wait wait wait... are you telleing me that, once you buy them, you have to *play* the games?! Really?! ;)

Jokes aside: personally, I don't. I like to vary genere, so once I compelte a game, I pick a completely different one. For example: if I play a shooter today, after that I will play an adventure game, then a RPG, then a stealth, and so on... if I'm undecided between more games in the same genere? Dice throw! :)
Nope, not at all. I just play what makes my mind go all "DO WANT" on me. For instance, about 7 years ago, I bought a boxset called FPS Legends Volume 1. Inside, it contained Call of Duty+United Offensive, Doom 3, Quake IV and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. Having completed Wolfenstein 3D some months ago and with the recent release of Wolfenstein: The New Order, I got a hankering to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein and so I did.
I love sales. I have a collection of "I love these games" and "I will certainly finish these games."

But I also have a collection of "I'll play this one until it gets boring," or "I'd really like to try this one out."

And lastly, the "I've never heard of that one before."

Sales often get games into their right price range for each category. They might sit on my backlog for a while, but I'll get to them. I'll probably play them for one day and then uninstall them. But they were worth exploring, because maybe 1 out of 30 or 40 go from "I've never heard of that one before" to a "I love these games" categories.

Gaming has the worst marketing of anything I've ever seen. When you buy a game, you usually have no idea what it's like to play it. Even if you get the demo (which I don't anymore), you still have no idea what you're getting. So trying the real, unadulterated version is usually the best thing you can do to try a game out. And who knows, you may just love it.

Well it's tough to do it better. And games aren't the only media with this problem. Several times I stumbled into a movie expecting (from the trailers) some brainless cartoony hero-action fest and was surprised to find a calm, contemplative movie about human nature with maybe three action sequences (that were all in the trailer).
Or how often do browse through a book, marvel at the beautiful language and after you bought it, it turns out to be quite the bore despite the verbal skills of the author.

Yep. Books are worse! :)

Let's Play videos are the best for games, IMO.
Sales help train your will power. I got +10 a few days back.
I rarely complete a game these days. I play a game for a couple of hours then I don't have time, then next time i sit down I want to play something else.. Rarely I do get hooked and then I want to finish a game. Latest sinner: Tomb Raider... I couldn't stop playing it. It had some annoying QTEs but all in all it was ok...
Sales are cool. I hate myself for wanting to buy shit I don't want to buy, if that makes sense. I have fucking wishlists now, uuuugh. I quit.

Idem, I play a FPS, then a RPG, then a point & click... but I always finish a game before to start a new one, or maximum two games in the same time.
I don't understand people who play same genere of game every time ! I mean, I have a neighboor who plays only football games or Counter Strike for years O_o

I'm saddled with the Cursed Credit Card of gOg Game Buying. Tried changing card numbers but that doesn't help - the new one is automatically cursed, as well.
