Hi to all, I would like to dedicate this thread to less known adventure games and adventure series that I would like to see here on GOG. I also hope it will help to raise awareness of these titles and maybe through voting helps to actually make it happen.

what we have already:

Sierra: pretty massive collection have we here already, though we still miss some titles. For me it's Laura Bow series and FMV stand-alone piece (fourth Sierra attempt after Gabriel Knight II and both Phantasmagorias), Lighthouse.

Myst series - except Myst III Exile the whole saga (though Steam has more of the older titles from Cyan)

Tex Murphy, ZORK, The Journeyman Project series - here I have to say just THANK YOU:-)

Cryo Interactive - apart from racing Megarace trilogy, one Dragon Lore and first three Atlantis games there unfortunatelly isn't anything from this French company. What about the row of educational adventures from various historical eras and lands (Egypt 1-3 + Egypt Kids, Versailles 1+2, Aztec (full title Aztec: The Curse in the Heart of the City of Gold aka The Secret Amulet), China (China: The Forbidden City). While this isn't my case since I'm not a fan of action adventures, I am sure plenty of people would enjoy the likes of The New Adventuers of Time Machine, The Devil Inside, Dreams: To Reality and plenty more. Not to mention Salammbo,

Dracula series from various studios +the first Return to the Mysterious Island (made by the authors of the third Dracula, Kheops Studio. Most of its 15 releases contain multiple-solutions approach, often draws from literary sources. Also notable for being successors of the Cryo Interactive, developing the third installment of Egypt series.

Slowly moving into what we don't have territory:

Arxel Tribe - for a time, frequent collaborant with above mentioned Cryo Interactive. Not only they developed some adventure games together (Ring - two part adaptation of Wagner's opera quadrilogy about Nibelungs, Siegfried and the whole bunch IN SPACE with hefty dose of classical music), modern re-imagining of the Faust/Mephisto story in Faust: 7 games of soul, but also produced two stand-alone series: Pilgrim: Faith as a weapon, The Secrets of the Alamut and The Legend of the Prophet and the Assassin being the first one (don't tell me that in the wave of Assassin's Creed it wouldn't find at least a few buyers) and Pompei: The Legend of Vesuvius/TimeScape: Journey to Pompeii + Jerusalem: The Three Roads to the Holy Land/Jerusalem: The Holy City being the other one. And then there is the Louvre: The Final Curse/The Messenger and half of a dozen other names (why to have different name for every region is beyond me), a cooperation with Index+, authors of the first also above mentioned Dracula series.

Coktel Vision - another French company, known in the USA thanks to Sierra. OK, we have Goblins, but what about Woodruf, Inca series (adventure/shooter/space simulator) or another FMV Urban Runner.

FMV games in general aren't really here in GOG much. Phantasmagoria 1+2, Gabriel Knight 2, Tex Murphy, TJP, late Zork games und some others... Unfortunatelly, no The Black Dahlia, no Ripper, no Dracula Unleashed, no The X-Files: The Game, no... Byzantine: the Betrayal, no Star Trek:Borg/Klingon, noThe Daedalus Encounter, no Tender Loving Care, no Latex: The Game (ok, now I'm getting into really bizarre waters)...

No Legend Entertainment adventures, no LucasArts adventures... well, those are known enought and asked for enough already, I guess:-) And the Discworld Trilogy...

Any thoughts?

Pendulo adventure games, we already have Runaway series, but I would be interested in seeing the rest of their catalog on GOG.

Kalypso (media) with Goblins 4. Tropico and Ceville we already have.

And Silver Style Entertainment with Simon the Sorcerer 4+5, Everlight (basically Simon the Sorcerer "6") and Goin' Downtown. Which are known for Giana Sisters and Expeditions: Conquistador.

- Culpa Innata. Great game, unique setting.

- Gray Matter, Black Mirror 2+3 (currently owned by Viva)

- Black Mirror (the first game)

- 1953 and Outcry

- Lost Treasures of Infocom 1+2 (two compilations encompassing almost all of Infocom's text adventures)

- The old Magnetic Scrolls adventures would make a great collection

BTW Psyringe, I see that you are from Germany. Maybe you could help me identify me one German DOS adventure game that I played as a child...

It was story of Bremer Stadtmusikanten, with simple graphics, not sure if it had side-scrolling or not. One could control the various animals and the goal of the first level was probably to get into the house of the robbers, but I was never able to do it.

Unfortunately I don't remember even how it was called... could you at least give me some link to a page where I could eventually ask? (even in German)

Never heard of that one, sorry. Are you sure that it was for DOS? A quick Internet search revealed a Nintendo cartridge that looks like a good fit, but nothing for DOS.

I am pretty sure - played it on 486 in my old school. I am even pretty sure that it was distributed on some old Chip CD, or at least I think it was Chip - there was stuff like PC-Bakterien, Robot-Adventures, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventures etc...

Recently I've even found some site listing the collection of some guy [url=]http://www.kielnet.net/home/match.insky/seite12.htm[/url] where it's featured, but apart from this - nothing.

The art on the Famicon cartrige does look vaguely similar, but I would swear the games were more lively.

I would like to see Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches on GOG! This is a adventure game that I have heard lots of good things about but do not hear much about it on GOG.

A lot of that list comes down to going round to Activision's house, giving them a kick up the arse and telling them to get ON with it, already!
The 2 'Shivers' games for the Sierra FMV list too!

Nikopol is at least available on Steam... most of the games I've mentioned aren't available anywhere.

Oh god, when I wanted to sample all the games from Kheops studio, I had to buy one on Steam, two on Big Fish Games, one on GOG, got lucky with English versions of Return to Mysterious Island 1 and 2 on DVD on amazon.de - and Secrets of Da Vinci, Destination - Treasure Island and The Fall Trilogy I have only in German.

BTW I can't stress it enough - if you like adventures from the first point of view, you can't go wrong with Kheops Studio - at least Return to Mysterious Island 1,2, Voyage: Inspired by Jules Verne/Journey to the Moon, ECHO: Secrets of the Lost Cavern about Lascaux cave
, The Secrets of Da Vinci, Nostradamus: The Last Prophecy, Destination: Treasurea Island, Dracula 3: Path of the Dragon, Cleopatra: Riddle of the Tomb/Cleopatra: The Queen's Destiny.

EDIT: one of the great things on GOG are the soundtracks provided to most of the games. Sadly, the Cryo Interactive games don't come with any (Atlantis series), probably because Pierre Esteve still sells them in his online shop. Amazing stuff - personaly, both first Atlantises and Black Moon Chronicles (fantasy strategy also from Cryo, which I was dying to play for years) have one of the most amazing soundtracks I've ever heard.

Meh! It was the game I was playing when I joined. Not bad but not great.
