bork22: Hey guys.

Recently, my friend and I acquired some old NES, Jaguar, SNES and Genesis cartridges and systems. It was really nice of the person to give them to us, but the inside of the systems and cartridges are musty. First, should I be worried about that must spreading if it's inside the systems (but clearly smellable) and if so, what should I do about it?

Thanks,
John
Get some rubbing alcohol and Q-tips for the cartridges and the systems. Make sure you clean the system gently with the Q-tip so you don't leave any of that cotton behind :)

Charon121: You may try to kill it with alcohol first. Pure alcohol shouldn't damage the circuitry.

bork22: Like take it apart and do a scrub-over?
If possible, yes. Not sure if some of those systems used proprietary screws to hold them together...
