If the selling point is just the expansion pack, then why not sell the expansion pack separately?
EDIT: I noticed that Sierra made the expansion pack free for owners of the first game. Sure it says boxed, but if you own the first game then according to the announcement, you can get the expansion for free.
A few things -
GOG is not selling expansions separately. This is a part of our approach. We don't want our users to buy addon/expansion that will require original game to be purchased before.(and believe me even if we write about it on a product page on top, there will be customers who'll buy it and only then realize they need to buy original game first).
GOG is testing all the games and making them XP&Vista compatible, even if it is a free game. We're not releasing them "as it is".
Based on this do you understand why we're selling the game+expansion? :-)
