Anyone notice that the standalone expansion for Perimeter is now on Steam?

I sure hope that means it'll be coming here too.
I don't know why I haven't paid attention to Perimeter, just read the GOG reviews and it sounds great! Hopefully this expansion and the main game will be on a deep discount during SSS.

I really love/hate that there's always cool games out there to play ^^
I always had an eye on Perimeter, but as it turned out the time was never right to start with this game. Reviews for this game are rare, good ones I never found. And since I am not the Let's Play loving type of person, I actually have no clue about how interesting this game is in singleplayer. Have you played it? Any advice on this? (Since you are talking about the expansion, I assume you know a little about Perimeter...)

I don't need an interesting story, but what I definetly expect from a strategy game are good strategic elements: unit design, usage of terrain, different factions, more than one successful strategy etc.

Well, I'd say it has all of those things to begin with. Unfortunately, a while into the singleplayer campaign, the difficulty very suddenly (from one mission to the next) ramps up considerably, which led me to quit the game back then, which was a pity because I was really enjoying it up to that point.

That's quite the same thing in my experience. I stumbled on a time critical mission that I *almost* beat 3 times in a row, but it made took a break from the game and I never went back.

For those hesitating : it's really a great game, the base building is quite unique, the base "eating" is unique and awesome ... it's a great experience (it's far from perfect but the originality in the design is worth the time and money). I really hope the expansion will make its way here, it would be a good reason to restart the whole thing.

How substantial a (stand-alone) expansion is P:ET? According to the Steam page it's selling for as much as the base game (with a small discount if they're bought together).
