Sachys: Actually, in the third he did all of his design work, went to see the preview and they had used none of it. It was one of the things that broke his love of his own work - along with that final debacle! (WHY SCOTT?! WHYyyyyYYYYYY!?).

When my net stops being crappy I'll try and find you the interview - quite an insight into how much he hated it all - and what could have been otherwise.

In fact, if i remember correctly, the film splice had something to do with what was supposed to appear in alien 3... but not sure if it was inspired by or directly based upon... must go check!

Edit: that said I still think the atmosphere, setting and some of the characters / scenes from 3 were brilliant!
Splice. Now that is a movie I need to see sometime! I remember seeing a preview for it.
Not in. +1!

Some good ideas in it - cant remember about the acting quality, but i approached expecting a b-movie grade flick and finished it going "damn - that was good!"
nuuttiT, thanks for the generous, albeit not joyous, occasion. +1

I'd like to be in for Uru: Complete Chronicles please.

I heard an interview where Giger talked about being mainly interested in suffering as a concept, a condition to explore. It was inspiring to see someone focus on exploring a state most try to end as quickly as possible and do their best to avoid altogether. A scout to admire, I think, for his individualistic dedication.
I'm in for the Zork Anthology. RIP

Vote for Dark Seed on GOG...

"Dark Seed is a psychological horror point-and-click adventure game developed and published by Cyberdreams in 1992. It exhibits a normal world and a dark world counterpart, which is based on the artwork by H. R. Giger. It was one of the first point-and-click adventure games to use high-resolution (640 x 400 pixels) graphics, to Giger's demand. A sequel, Dark Seed II, was released in 1995."
