I am not in. happy anniversary, Sinistar!
The game I was most happy to get was also my very first game on GOG, as well as a freebie. It was Tyrian 2000. I loved playing the shareware version of it back in the day, on my father's 486. I also remember spending a lot of time in the setup program seeing how the music sounded on different sound cards. (My favorite was the Logitech SoundMan Wave.) I always wanted to register it but never got around to it and never came across it in any of the stores that carried cheap registered games. (I remember getting the boxed version of Blake Stone, Raptor, etc. cheap at K-Mart.) I was ecstatic when I found the full version on GOG and even more amazed that it was free.

The game I would most like to try is Banished. It's been a long time since I've found a decent city builder.

Cyberevil: I'd probably say I'd be most interested in trying either one of the Pro pinball games (Big Race USA, Timeshock?)
Don't forget about Fantastic Journey! All three are excellent and among my favorite non-nostalgia related finds on GOG. I'm still amazed at how long ago they came out considering how well they still play (and look). Even the physics in most modern pinball games isn't up to the standard set by the Pro Pinball series.
Not in, but happy GOGiversary!

I was happy to get Blood. I had the big box version when I was younger (around the time when it was released). I guess my dad thought it looked too violent and, well, bloody, so he threw it out (along with Heretic), which really sucked. I was glad to finally find some place where I could purchase the game again.

I've been playing through it when I can since October last year and I'm on the last episode. A truly great game.
Congratulations on your GOGiversary!
:D

IAmSinistar: A little bit different this time around. To enter, please post the game you were most happy to get on GOG, and why. A game you've always wanted to try, or which you wanted to play again and had lost your copy of, or one which surprised you in some wonderful way, or whatever other reason the game stands out for you.

Also post which game on GOG you most want to try. This will be the one you receive should you win this this event.
I'm looking at my library and its hard to pick just one I was happiest to see GoG-ed, because many classic adventure games don't work on modern OS-es without help. It'd be one of these - Zork Grand Inquisitor, Simon the Sorceror, Journeyman Project 2 & 3 or RealMyst. I was very happy to get my old faves up and running!

Getting the Book of Unwritten Tales 1 & 2 for cheap was an awesome moment. The first one was as good as I'd heard, which was a delightful discovery. I still haven't played the 2nd game, but I will!

The game I want to try most would be the re-worked Journeyman 1- Pegasus Prime. I never finished the first game without a lot of help because of all the timed sequences, but I'm hopeful that the new edition will be more like J2 & J3, which I have enjoyed many times. http://www.gog.com/game/journeyman_project_1_pegasus_prime_the

Congrats! I'm not entering, but the game I was Neverwinter Nights. The game is so rich with so many ways to enjoy it from character building to dungeon crawling.
Happy GOGiversary IAmSinistar! And a big +1 for you for hosting this awesome giveaway to celebrate this occasion (hey! Shouldn't we be giving you gifts actually? :-) ).

There were two main reasons for me to join GOG. First was their DRM-free policy obviously :-), and second was their catalogue of classic Sierra games. I grew up with those games, and actually have quite a few of them in their original physical release, but I'm completely useless though getting them to run on modern systems. ;-) Tried Dosbox and other emulators, but there must be something in my brain that just makes it impossible for me to get them to work properly lol. :-D Aaanyhoo, the games I was THRILLED to find on here the most were the three Gabriel Knight games. Best adventure games ever, period! And I've had a blast playing them again, thanks to GOG! :-) I've been buying the other Sierra titles on here as well these last few months, from their Quest series, over their city builders like Caesar 3 (probably my second favourite genre after adventure games) to RPGs that were released through them (like Arcanum and the Krondor games). And while I've picked up some brilliant classic non-Sierra games on GOG as well, there's just nothing to get that nostalgia kick going like seeing that Sierra mountain logo appear on my screen! :-) Still hoping Activision might one day dig a little deeper in their Sierra catalogue and bring some of the lesser known Sierra classics (like Laura Bow, Willy Beamish, Manhunter, Heart of China, ...) to GOG as well. *fingers crossed*

The second game I should mention here is Defender's Quest. I enjoy reading everyone's opinion on games in the topics that are posted here whenever a game is put on sale for a day. I find plenty of games there that I never even heard of, but that look like a lot of fun after reading people's review of them. When Defender's Quest came up a few months ago, I thought, hm, here's a game I might enoy playing from time to time, you know, whenever I might have half an hour to spend or so, as a fun, little casual game. Boy was I wrong! :-) This game is sooooo darn addictive! Whenever I fire it up, I know that time will fly by, and most of the day (and night! :-) ) will be gone whenever I switch it off. :-D It's probably the game I've sunk most time in of all the ones I have bought on here, and I definitely did not see that coming! Love, love finding surprising games like that! So yes, this one definitely also counts as the one I was happiest to find on here!

The game I'm dying to try out is Banished! I just loooove city building games (just added SimCity 4 to my game shelf as well ;-) ), and this one looks very different, unique and fun. A combination of city building and survival strategy game, with a lot of replayability options. I've been meaning to get it for a while now, but then GOG always comes up with these amazing sales I can't resist either lol, so my monthly gaming budget is always spent on those deals. Damn you GOG *shakes angry fist* ;-) I do realise it's an expensive game, so would also like to put down a second game here too. ;-) Very, very , very close behind it, and at the top of my wishlist as well, is the classic adventure game Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender that got a GOG release not so long ago. I never got a chance to play any of the MicroProse adventure games back in the day, and this one looks totally crazy and a LOT of fun! :-)

EDIT: by the way, totally love reading about everyone's experience here with their favourite, and most wanted, GOG game! :-)

Congrats on your GOGiversary! I would say the game I was most happy to get on GOG was Richard & Alice, because I have been a fan for years of the writing of Ashton Raze and Lewis Denby. And I would say the game that I most want to try is Gothic 1 because of the intriguing open world concept that it has. Thank you for making this giveaway. +1

akhliber: A Story About My Uncle.
Nice choice! I just added that one to my wish list yesterday! I'm a sucker for gorgeous graphics, and this one certainly has them!
Like with most things, my taste in games is highly eclectic... I won Night of the Rabbit - well triock won it in a Xyem contest and gifted it to me. I also won Harvester though I can't tell who gifted me (I know but I'm sworn to secrecy) - another excellent but creepy game ;-p And recently I was gifted Ether One from the AGB, which took some jiggering with the dev to run but that I'm really enjoying - let me just say that its puzzles remind me of Myst. And lastly, I hope to find some uninterrupted time to truly get into Planescape: Torment - I started it last fall but school was just too challenging - Licurg graciously gifted me this game and it totally changed my mind about RPG's ;-) There are others but I'd just be rambling....

I'm looking forward to playing Memoria at some point in the future after I finish Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav.

Congrats on your GOGiversary - not in though ;-p
I have to say that the games I enjoyed the most that I've gotten from GOG is The Cat Lady and King of Dragon Pass. Their stories were just so exceptional, I got sucked in and found it hard to stop playing until I reached the ending.

I would like to try Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena. I actually have the disc copy of this, the only problem is the TAGES DRM. It took me several days just to get through that. And even after that I continually suffered complications and errors. While I managed to complete Butcher Bay, Assault on Dark Athena wouldn't work. So I'm hoping to finish this and enjoy the game without having to fight with the DRM every step of the way.

An exceptional story is something I enjoy above all else! I was badgered (haha) into getting The Cat Lady, and now I've added King of Dragon Pass to my to-get-someday wishlist. Thanks! :D

The situations and choices you can make are superb, and the pictures are just sublime. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
You've joined GOG only 1 year ago? I would bet you were much "older" than that.

Anyway, thank you for being here IAmSinistar! I gave many +1 to you!

Not in, but the game I was most happy to get on GOG was Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
Happy GOGiversary :)!

The GOG game I’m happiest about owning is the one which brought me here in the first place, Wasteland. This is a truly awesome game, my absolute favourite RPG of all time.

The GOG game I most want to try is Icewind Dale. The mac-compatible-version of this game was just released recently, the lack of a mac-compatible version was the only thing holding me back from getting this game last time it was on sale.

Thanks for the great giveaway IAmSinistar.

Not in but thanks and happy anniversary!

The game I was most happy to get on GOG definitely was System Shock 2. I'm not a fan of piracy, but this was the one game where I couldn't part with my illegitimate copy - the game just was unavailable. Well I came a across a (barely affordable) copy of the heavily censored German version once, but I couldn't bring myself to actually pay money for this pile of poo, even if it said SS2 in big inviting letters on the box. Well now I finally have a legal uncensored version - thanks to GOG!.

The game look forward to try most is Bad Mojo - that you already gifted to me! It's already installed and I had a look at the intro and the first few screens, but I haven't had the time (yet!) to take it any further. That's why I'm not in ;-)
