One of the virtues of the Enhanced series is that the Infinity Engine has been reworked. Aside from increasing hardware compatibility, it also means that the game is less buggy as a whole because fixes could be cleanly and universally integrated into the game. With the original version of Baldur's Gate II, there were at least five different major fixpacks that worked together to fix a wide swath of issues. Having gone through that process at least thrice, I am personally tired of collecting mods to fix a game.
PROS
+Integrates the fixes done by modders and makes them work cleanly in a rebuilt engine.
+Additional bugfixes introduced to the series, many of which weren't possible for older versions of the game.
+More content, including an arena and at least three new party members.
+You can use Wild Mage and other BG2 content in BG1.
+BG1 now uses the BG2 interface instead.
+Better compatibility with modern hardware.
+Improved multiplayer.
+Easier to mod, due to being less hardcoded.
CONS
-More expensive than GOG's older version of the Baldur's Gate series.
-There are new bugs, on account of the reworked engine.
-Some mods no longer work, and haven't been updated by their developers.
-Graphics don't look good at higher resolutions. The original art assets have been lost, preventing re-rendering.
