Miasmata, the Geneforge Saga, Hotline Miami, and more up to 85% off!

Indie games are always throwing something interesting into the mixed bag that is gaming. Untried concepts that would seem like a risk to the big AAA publishers (whose games tend to have budgets that require scientific notation) are brought to life. Concepts such as [url=http://www.gog.com/game/the_real_texas]an alternative version of Texas, or an 8-bit open world romp through the video game memories of yesteryear have all been brought to us by indie games with all the attention to detail and love of the craft that an indie developer can provide.

Let's check out what we we've got in our own trail mix of indies in the IndieMix Promo!

Are you an explorer? Does the thought of making your own map using triangulation, yes, actual triangulation!, get you all excited? Then book a ticket to Miasmata for only $2.99! After being stranded on an unknown island, you must search the island for the cure to your own illness. Be careful as you are not alone!

Some RPGs will have you rolling your party for hours on end before you can even set one foot out the door. While that can be fun, sometimes it's easier to create party members on the fly, so to speak. Create your own party members using your very will--a single hulking behemoth or a herd of rapid-sting scorpions--in the world of Geneforge 1-5 Yours for only $3.74!

Fiending for a bit of the old ultra-violence? Are you done with being the nice guy, the so-called Chosen One, and saving princesses? Yeah, so are we! That's why we took a drive down to the Sunshine State and signed Hotline Miami for those of you who cried out "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" Snatch it now for $2.49!

This was just a taste of what's in store for you in our weekend promo! We have so many other interesting indies in our trail mix or, rather, IndieMix Promo until Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:59 AM GMT!

piepvogel: I don't know if it's a matter of licenses but we get lots and lots of indie titels and the other stuff are mostly adventure games. Some of us might be interested in indies and adventures (and I'm absolutely fine with it), but I'm waiting for cool sports, racing, diablo-like rpgs, simulation games.
Just a short look in "Racing & Sports": 24 titles; "adventures" & "indies": countless.

It seems that Gog.com doesn't like these genres. :-(
Most of the time with racing and sports titles, licenses are the issue. This is because they don't get renewed after a time because no one wants to renew licenses for "old" titles :/

Licurg: Hotline Miami is a must-buy for anyone who still doesn't have it
And who doesn't get motion sickness too easily. Hopefully, they make the camera more steady in HM2 :S

Shambhala: How is To the Moon?
I can't really understand people who loved it. Highly overrated in my opinion.

mistermumbles: Depends on who you ask. Too little 'game' with a pretentious story that is supposed to make you feel sad. Yeah, it made me feel sad that I wasted money on that thing. =P
Yeah, that's why I haven't bought it either .

I wholeheartedly recommend DROD. It's one of the best puzzle game series ever made and it will probably keep you occupied for hundreds of hours.

Ok, got that point. What what's the difference between releasing an old racing game here on GOG.com and re-releasing it via retail "value/ classic boxes"? There are many games you can still find in these classic-editions in retailstores.
I didn't know I'm such an Indie Gaming fan :) Have almost all of them, When The Bed Bites was on my radar for some time... Nice promo.
I was imagining this week, I bought the Evoland to 10$ and now 2.49$ Aaahhh :)

I don't know about retail, perhaps because the quantity is limited or there are other deals in place? Again, not really sure.
Thx Judas!
I did a giveaway for Capsized but I've never actually played it. Anyone here ever go at it?

grimgroove: Agreed.
I thought as much...
I may still grab it for that price though.
Guess I will buy only Geneforge 1-5

And regarding Spiderweb games, why Nethergate Resurrection isn't available in GOG yet?

I had a lot of fun with this game. Whoever designed movement in this game did an awesome job! You can walk, jump, use your jetpack or hook, wall jump... and everything is perfectly responding so exploring an alien world (I really like the art style) was very entertaining.

My biggest complain was stupid AI - you can kill many enemies from the distance and they won't even bother coming closer to you to return fire.

But fighting was pretty good nonetheless, a lot different weapons, some of them better for specific enemies but you can stick with one or two of them, become very proficient and then wreak havoc :) It still won't be easy, some enemies are really challenging but beating them is very rewarding.

I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Apparently GOG rejected it:

I haven't seen "official" GOG statements about it, though.
