Notice a lot while playing that there's somewhat of a mesh-type pattern over many of the textures (esp, skin, etc). Just finished killing the kayran and noticed after the fight it's a lot worse. (notice like up on the pillars in the screen shot).

Thanks in advance.

I have the same things on my computer, I think this is the way the game handle texture.

I don't try to fixt it. Perhaps you could try with the Control Panel of your graphic card ?
System specs?
That's the way the game handles shadows. At certain times of day it's more clear than on others.

Nothing you can do about it unfortunately.
It's a problem with the way they do transparent shadows, and it is very annoying. I'm still surprised they shipped a game with such high quality graphics that look like crap every time you are in the shade.

There were a series of threads about it several months ago when it came out but I never found any way of fixing it, the game developers would have to redo their shadowing (or... "Enhance" them?)

It's still there in the Enhanced edition though so obviously they have no intention of fixing this.

It's not broken. That's how the engine handles shadows.
Lots of game use that kind of shadow especially game that have large environment; GTA IV is one of them. It's called dithering.

Indeed, Two Worlds is another example.

Yes, to minimize performance hit. It depend on the engine.
