I'm playing on a 1400x900 res 19 inch monitor, and I have the black bands on the top and bottom of the screen, which is a little bothersome with this screen size and the amount of detail in the game. Do I have to wait for a patch or...?

Game only natively supports 16x9 right now, so you will get the black bars in 16x10. It is supposed to be patched, nobody knows when.
