Ok at the moment I am in chapter 1, I have just completed the melena quest the one where you go in the cave and you find the dead guards 3 ways this quest can be completed.

I saved it just before completion you get 125exp on quest completion now the bug me thinks is. My exp bar was three quarter to level 9, I did the quest 1 way first the bar hardly moved.

If I completed the quest and told the truth to the guards I am on the brink of level 9.Do you get some kind of bonus for doin quests the good way lol

This one has a 200 XP bonus for siding with the guards. According to the Wiki:
At the end, choosing to side with Malena earns you only 125 XP, while turning her over to the guards to be executed nets you 325 XP (200 XP is awarded in the middle of the cutscene, 125 XP after).

It works out roughly about even, or certainly not enough to worry about.

In my book, doing the quest the good way is to not turn her in, meet her in the forrest, get ambushed, meet her again in the ruins and let her go anyway. But then I am a fan of the Iorveth route and that seems the appropriate way to deal with this quest to me. Experience is not really an issue in this game with some quests giving much more as a reward and you can always trash some monsters to compensate.

Forgive me, but are you sure you completed the whole quest? If you do not turn her in right away, the quest is extended, and therefore you will not get the completion bonus until you have finished all the steps, as far as I know. It's not made clear from your post if you did this or not, that's why I'm asking.

The only bug in Melena's quest is the fact that the ambush at waterfall is not full of naked elven maidens coming to thank me for saving their sister...

In the end I handed her over to the guards, this is my second playthrogh of chapter 1, I did the ambush route to the quest on my first playthrough.

Also few posts above says handing her in is not the good way well she lured the guards in there and they got killed by the scoitael, I guess its just how you see it yourself.

My aim atm is to go to near chapter 1 where you make a big choice save it then distribute all me points still not assigned one and playing on hard lol. So when I start the game again dont have to do the prolgue and most chapter 1

Agreed it is a matter of how you see yourself. I never considered handing her over to the guards on either path since you know what horrid things will happen in that tower after you hand her over to Loredo, those two dumb guards deserved to die anyway. Loredo is considered scum on both paths you can play so why help him do another rape?

Just my thoughts on the matter but my rammble got OT, appologies !

I feel pretty much the same. Malena knows too much that would be useful to Loredo. Even if my Geralt would just as soon see Malena dead, there is no way he would give Loredo the satisfaction of "interrogating" her.
