Sometimes no matter what I do, I cannot get items.

Not because of stupid map issues (although this DO happen, sometimes a item is in a far place with some random NPC or decoration blocking the way)

But because whatever I do, the cursor never turns into the item search button.

Even more sillier, there are sometimes for example 5 boxes stacked, and I can get items from 4 of them, and one don't.

Sometimes going to other place and returning fix it, sometimes not. But wandering aimlessy to fix a bug is getting tiring... I am still in the first chapter and thinking in not playing the game anymore (And this would greatly upset me, since this is the only game ever above 30 USD in my life that I bought for full price)

Do you have the Enhanced Edition?
Also, try looting using space. Like: left click to start looting and space to loot everything.

I always look with space.

The problem is I cannot left click on the thing in first place... I only end swatting air with sword (if the sword is in hand) or nothing happens.

Sometimes for example there are 3 bags piled. I can left click and press space really fast and loot all of them. But sometimes I look 1 or 2, and the rest remain with medallion highlight but nothing happen, sometimes if I go to other area and return I can look them, but not always.

Oh the cave in the first act for example, there are some ores that I cannot get from the wall at all, no matter how I try to look at them, or the distance that I put between my and them...

Sometimes carefully changing distance work (ie: I point the cursor at a object, and then SLOWLY walk forward until I hit the object, and then backward again, sometimes eventually the cursor flash that I can get the object).

This also affect traps, sometimes I cannot disable a trap (but I can always pick disabled traps...)

Also yes, I have Enhanced Edition and the lastest updates.

I know this is the least thing you want to do right now, but if you reinstall the game, it might work right.
I don't have any better ideas.

I have the same problem.

Same problem, sometimes I can blast away anything that is in the way with aard and other times that orange glowing sack is unlootable. I basically gave up on those since looting everything isn't too important.

I found out that the issue is the interaction distance and collision issues.

Seemly the game check if Geralt can really reach the object, I for example noticed that objects that have too much wall around them (for example they are inside a hole in the wall, or some enemy died below a crevice) you cannot get them.

Also you cannot sometimes get objects that were put behind others, usually matresses, they are just big enough so you cannot reach a object, sometimes if you play some animations (like casting, rolling or attacking) you get in range, and the interaction icon flash on the screen, but since you are already animating you cannot interact...

Seriously, those sort of stuff is making me very, very, very frustated and upset, I keep seeing the fucking thing there and I cannot get it!

I guess CD Project need to or fix the bug and increase the range... or fire the stupid game designers that put loot in unreachable places (like I said, behind objects that you cannot reach even spamming aard and wrecking the whole room)
