Release the GOG Galaxy client for linux
I got you boys, open lutris, click the plus, search lutris site for installers, search for gog galaxy and install it, there you go
GOG galaxy has been developped with .Net/C# at the time where this techno were windows only. This was a strategically bad decision and the changes from the version used are probably huge. So a port to linux means a complete rewrite I am suspecting. There are alternative software to do it like heroic games or lutris.
Linux would be nice +2 for open source as well.
37k people wanting a linux client and... crickets so far.
I'm trying to move away from everything DRM and proprietary. I've ditched windows last year, and i'd love to ditch steam whenever i can in favor of gog, but i need a linux client to do so.
Bota pra torar no Linux caraio.
GOG needs to build a Linux Desktop app. Hopefully it runs regardless of your Linux distro.
+1 --> Linux gaming is not the future...it's the present!
GOG направете подръжка за Linix игри не ме караите да ставам клиент на Steam.
I've been using Linux to play games for 3 years now and I actually prefer to buy my games from Steam again because I know they run there and the client doesn't cause any problems.

Linux gamer here. I buy the majority of my games on Steam as there's an official, supported client with complete Proton integration and an effort made to develop support and encourage adoption.
Why GoG, a company that prides itself on being DRM free and putting it's users first, can't support Linux and Proton absolutely baffles me and drives my money into Valve's hands.
If steam which has DRM, goes out of their way to support linux, than surely GOG a platform which advocates for owning your games, can allow you to use linux, the OS you own.
As a steamDeck user, also make bring it officially to the SteamDeck Discover software center.
One of the things that is making me choose Steam Releases over Gog ones, is the convenience of having them on Steam, which makes it easy to download and run on the steam deck.
Try to partner with Steam for integration with their proton.

Lutris and Heroic are okay as an alternative, as is Minigalaxy for native linux games, but it having a native Galaxy would be preferred; better for managing updates, accessing extras, backing up saves, etc.
This has taken me by surprise that there isn't one.
Aligning with GOG's DRM-Free Philosophy: GOG has built its reputation on providing DRM-free games, aligning well with the open-source and free-software philosophy that many Linux users advocate. A Linux client could tap into a community that values both DRM-free and Linux-compatible software, making GOG an appealing choice over competitors. Valve's proton is open source, so there is also that aspect.
A flatpack would be a great choice of package format, so there'd be no need to create numerous packages for different distros.
Por favor

Surely, the amount of people willing to leave the relative convenience of "just sticking with Steam" behind is highest among Linux users. They are the people who have already chosen to go off the beaten path, and take the harder route, to gain (or gain back) control of ownership and privacy. I imagine Linux gamers would be the majority of your consumer demographics and there are more of us every day.
maybe a flatpak!
pls :(
Yes, please! I'd much rather buy on GOG.
This would be actually fantastic! I only have to depend on windows to play games, which I loath to do with each passing day! Windows is utter garbage!
Yes, would be very appreciated :)
I hope they do this, it's already time
Ever since I got Steam Deck I slowly realized I used GoG less and less as it was just way more convenient to get it on Steam, rather than manually keep adding GoG games through Steam layer. All you'd have to do is to put GoG on Steam, and let it use the Steam's Proton for itself and the games downloaded. You wouldn't have to make anything official or guaranty anything to work. Just make GoG Galaxy usable with controller, put it on Steam and you're 95% there.
Yes please! Or at least make it OOTB compatible with wine. I think that would work a bit as well...
YES, PLEASE.
I support this request. It's time.
If you were waiting for an opportune time to challenge Steam as a digital marketplace, it's now. It's not like GOG Galaxy for linux is the single most requested thing on the community wishlist SEVERAL TIMES OVER.
3rd party devs can do it, but gog can't? I don't believe that. This forces me to believe that gog does not care about me as a customer, which is a shame because I would buy a lot more games here if there was official support
With recent tools like umu this really shouldn't be an issue, And with the recent increase in popularity because of the Steam Deck (As well as Microsoft's recent and not so recent incompetence) Linux is just getting more and more popular, And unless gog does something That popularity is just going to result in fewer and fewer customers here.
Windows sucks, don't die with it.
Please..
I just bought a bunch of GOG games, for the first time in ever.
Looked for the GOG Galaxy Linux client and was perplexed there is none.
Tried to download the client manually, the website wouldn't let me and tell me I should download it on my PC (really going out of your way to stop me, are you?).
Tried to run GOG Galaxy through WINE/Lutris. All games somehow fail to install after download.
What a piece of garbage.
I will refund everything now and only buy my games on Steam.
Bye GOG.
I love GOG, I want GOG, I've got games on GOG, but I cant use GOG Galaxy. Steam Deck has become my main PC, which is a Linux system. I want to buy more games with GOG, but Steam is the only convenient option right now.

На самом деле игры в линуксе всё же имеют значение для новичков. Как бы не говорили что "Линукс не для игр", или "ты лузер если не можешь запустить игру" но это тормозит популярность и переход с windows. Вам бы следовало идти по примеру Steam

EN In fact, Linux games are still important for beginners. No matter how much they say that "Linux is not for games", or "you are a loser if you can not run a game", but this slows down the popularity and the transition from Windows. You would like, for example, Steam
WHAT YEAR IS IT?!
I really like GOG and would love to purchase more games here.
Unfortunately sometimes it's not enough to use Heroic launcher - I can play my Cyberpunk 2077, but I cannot install Spanish Audio though it. Now I'm afraid of purchasing Fallout 4, it lists spanish audio, but I might not be able to download it, if it's not included into initial default installation
You can use lutris too to install and play your GOG games. And it can emulate the only windows games over wine only with a few clicks. All games not only the GOG games.
At this point there's no need for Galaxy, there's an open source implementation of GOG online services for Linux being used by Heroic Launcher so all the features you would want are there
Maybe an appimage?
I posted here 3 years ago maybe... Nothning
Looking at the forum for GoG Galaxy, it looks like it's completely abandoned, to the point that Heroic looks like a better launcher than the official one.
I like GOG, but they really need to step up their game. At least make an API or work with the FOSS community to get things like linux cloud saves.
I am switching completely to Linux at Win10 EoL (14th October 2025)
I actually hoped this were solved long ago....
I'd love to switch full-time to Linux desktop. Steam + GOG would seal it; I don't care about any of the others.

I have bit of a bad idea: Let's flood Wishlist main page with this.
It's a bad idea but I feel like it's the only way to convince GOG. (Sorry GOG)
