Add SOFORT Ident and Post Ident to verify age
There is already a bigger suggestion for this. Please vote for it so more people see it: www.gog.com/wishlist/site/optional_age_verification_eg_for_german_users
In addition to what's been said already - do NOT use SOFORT to pay! You're handing out your banking LOGIN data to a third party when you do! This enables them, any everyone who gets their hands on those credentials, to log into your bank account and keep tabs on what you buy, earn and work! My Sparkasse representative strongly advised me to not use that "Service" no matter how many "TÜV" certifications they slap on their website.
Blergh. Should not post while tired. That was complete nonsense :D
Note: German law as it currently stands would require Postident-Comfort or Postindent + registered mail.
Its not against the law to sell them, but the seller has to verify that the buyer is 18 years or older.
Of it would be against German Law to sell Q2/3 at GOG to german customers, it would also be against German Law to sell 98% of of all GOG-Games to german customers because english and uncut versions of most games haven't been rated by USK.
Well Quake 2 and Quake 3 are still on the index. This makes some sense as the games are not allowed to be officially sold in Germany but you can order them online from sellers eg. from other countries and this is allowed and legal. But you have to be at least 18 to buy them. There are still restrictions when you import an indexed game (just for private use, no public presentation). You are allowed to own them.
You are also allowed to own seized games, but they are not allowed to be sold in Germany, you have to import them, and this is legal.

Here are the laws:
dejure.org/gesetze/StGB/131.html www.gesetze-im-internet.de/stgb/__131.html
dejure.org/gesetze/JuSchG/15.html www.gesetze-im-internet.de/juschg/__15.html
This doesn't make any sense for games like Quake 2/3 because there is no ristriction by German Law. Else GOG couldn't sell 98% of their catalog in Germany because of foreign (english and uncut) versions of the game.
It would only affect Commandos and Wolfenstein.
