Every now and then I come back to GOG looking for this game, because that's what it is, a Good Old Game that stands out as a lovely childhood memory. I've played it for more than a decade and each time is as joyful as the first. From the moment you step into the game, you are greeted with a richly detailed and beautifully animated world. The hand-drawn graphics are a feast for the eyes, with each level meticulously crafted to offer a unique and immersive experience. The game’s parallax scrolling engine ensures that the visuals remain smooth and engaging. The art style, reminiscent of a colorful cartoon, brings the pirate world to life in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The gameplay is a perfect blend of challenge and reward. Captain Claw’s movements are silky smooth, and the controls are tight and responsive, making every jump and attack feel satisfying. The game is filled with a variety of enemies, traps, and puzzles that require both skill and strategy to overcome. The game’s soundtrack is another highlight, enhancing the atmosphere of each level, it ranges from the eerie and suspenseful to the adventurous and triumphant. The sound effects are equally impressive, with Captain Claw’s one-liners and the various enemy dialogues adding a layer of humor and personality to the game (the Portuguese language dubbing is also excellent, btw). Captain Claw is more than just a game; it’s an adventure that transports you to a world of swashbuckling pirates, mystical artifacts, and daring escapes. It’s a testament to what a side-scrolling platformer can achieve when crafted with passion and care. Captain Claw offers a thrilling and unforgettable experience that has aged remarkably well. In the vast and often overlooked landscape of classic PC games, Captain Claw stands out as a hidden gem, a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of Monolith Productions. It’s a game that deserves to be rediscovered and cherished, a true treasure in the annals of gaming history.

It's one of the first games I've played in my life. And the first one I've played with sound. Though I remember not comprehending why a cat pirate would collect cheese. Loved it as a kid, and never managed to beat it...
It was my first game came bundled free when my parents bought a Pentium 4 computer and was so addicted and played it after got home from school! Please bring this GEM back! I want this on my STEAM DECK!

A game that brings back fond memories of childhood games on my grandmother's Pentium computer - challenging but exciting platforming, fantastic looking levels and characters and brilliantly acted characters (particularly your character, Captain Claw, voiced by Stephen Weyte - ol' Caleb from Blood himself, which I learnt later but always thought was a cool trivia fact). One of the first times I remember managing to collect absolutely everything in a level and get a PERFECT (even if it was just the demo version). I always remember wanting to buy this game, but having no access to a card to buy it online at the time and it all but disappearing from the world by the time I did. I've hoped for this to join GOG for years, having it voted on the wishlist for years, and I still look forward to the day I can finally own this game after at least 20 years!

Who would've thought Monolith Productions could make a good 2D platformer? You have good options to defend yourself. Even though it has 2 difficulty spikes, I enjoyed the challange it presented.

I want this game to be relaunched and remastered here in the GOG store because I played it as a child and loved it. Sadly, the lack of compatibilty made it imposssibke to play confortably, so make our dream true so I can buy it day one.
This game was the best in my childhood ❤️ the history is épic, the bosses are difycult and the scenarios are amazing. I remember i played it in 1998 in my old pc
I used to watch my younger brother play this on our old Windows 95 when we both got home after school. The cutscenes were amazing, and the gameplay was fun, but the greatest treasure was the time I spent with him. Being able to play this game again brings me closer to that time of my life, and my brother. Aside from nostalgia, this game does deserve to be experienced, by everyone.

I played this game years and years ago, but I was never been able to beat it. It was the first game localized in Brazilian Portuguese I ever played. The game is very fun and difficult. It was about a cat pirate named Natanael José Claw, who is willing to fly off the prison to get an ancient amulet. The art and the music is so beautiful, the story is non-sence but compeling. It is a game that should be preserved.

I still remember the day when I first played this game. It was in the 6th grade at a classmate's house. He showed me this game and I fell in love with Captain Claw instantly! The game is a perfect platformer IMO. Quite challenging, but ultimately fair. I've never beaten it without cheat codes tho lol. The community is still active and is still making custom levels for it to this day!

On the Ball: World Cup Edition
On the Ball: World Cup EditionThis is an unusual take on the football management game, which features virtually no statistics. Up to four managers can join in, to lead their chosen team through the World Cup, from qualifying to the actual tournament. Tactics and training are hugely important due to the game's short time frame. The players each have individual personalities, and these have been factored in during the game. Sometimes players will drink too much, fall in love, or have personality clashes with their team-mates or with you, all of which have to be factored in. The press will ask you loaded questions, so be careful how you answer.
