Don't let Steam fool you; the "director's cut" of this game, the most accessible way to obtain it, is pretty terrible and is an overall worse port with multiple downgrades. I was thankful to get a copy in my steam library and i have never forgotten its amazing protagonist and great mechanics that modernize Deus Ex in a tasteful way. The original port deserves to be preserved in all its golden filter goodness.

This game is already on GOG, so why do you add it here? It does not make any sense. This should be a community wishlist for unrealeased/unavailable titles. But it is a good one, way better than DXMD

The original Deus Ex was my first introduction to PC gaming. I remember being fascinated by the cover, the music, and the aesthetic as a six-year-old when it first released in 2000. I never really knew how to play properly and spent hours upon hours running around Liberty Island. When I got older, I understood the mechanics and was hooked. It’s no exaggeration to say I’ve played Deus Ex at least 50 times in the last 25 years. Human Revolution introduced a whole new generation to the Deus Ex formula. Although it is slightly more linear due to console limitations, it remained faithful to the original while advancing the gameplay. A phenomenal game in its own right that has aged incredibly well, any fan of RPGs and immersive sims should play it. It’s a shame that Mankind Divided couldn’t come close to Deus Ex or Human Revolution. The Director's Cut incorporates The Missing Link DLC into the game and changes the color palette. I think both of these additions should be optional, so I’d prefer to have the vanilla Human Revolution for a better aesthetic and style.
This version of Deus Ex Human Revolution is not the same as the version that is being sold on GOG. The version that is currently available, the so-called "Director's Cut" is a vastly inferior version (in most cases) of the original title that is, in and of itself, a PC port of the Wii U port of the original version of the game. The Wii U version, AKA "Director's Cut" was based on an outdated build of Deus Ex Human Revolution and introduced a number of graphical bugs and glitches and more or less butchered the lighting of the entire game. Furthermore, the developers responsible for the Wii U version removed the gold filter from the game entirely, with no way to re-enable it without mods, ruining the entire mood and atmosphere of the game for those that enjoy it. The Director's Cut was originally only meant for release on the Wii U, but after it became evidently apparent that the Wii U was a total failure, Square Enix quickly and haphazardly commissioned the Director's Cut to also be released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC—in the case of PC, the original version of the game was delisted from all stores and replaced with the inferior Director's Cut Wii U PC port junk that we currently have for sale on GOG. This page is an important resource in having the original version of Deus Ex Human Revolution restored—ideally being bundled together with the "Director's Cut" version, to give people the choice on which version they would like to play, as some people do enjoy the boss fight alterations made in the Director's Cut (arguably the only good change the Director's Cut made to the original game). Personally speaking, the desecration of the original game's artistic vision in the Director's Cut is not worth having improved boss fights. Human Revolution is one of my favourite games of all time and I remember when it was originally announced as Deus Ex 3. I hope some day GOG can have this original version of the game restored from its banishment in digital delisting hell.

Some people could think that this is a duplicate, but the original release had a different colour palette and different light distribution. I don't know whether I would pay full price of it, but I would definitely like to own it. It's important to understand though that the original version obviously lacks the added content. (duh)
The original Deus Ex: Human Revolution singlehandedly brought back the Deus Ex franchise back to life. Sadly, the "Director's Cut" edition has a lot of issues and controversial changes - gold filter is gone, some shadows are broken, new bugs added. I would really like to have the preserved original one instead.

Ikaruga
IkarugaIn this vertical scrolling spaceship shooter, you control a ship that can change its polarity at will. As blue/white, the ship can easily destroy red/black enemies, and vice versa. Bullets of your polarity can be collected to fuel your energy gauge, but those opposite will kill you. Destroying an enemy ship causes them to fire revenge bullets which can be absorbed and fired back by the player. Different difficulties exist to change exactly how you interact with polarized points, or how they appear. It is the spiritual successor to Radiant Silvergun, featuring similar level and boss design, as well as it's buddhism inspired themes and aesthetics. Both are directed by Hiroshi Iuchi, who also composed Ikaruga's soundtrack.

Radiant Silvergun
Radiant SilvergunUnlike in most other shoot 'em ups, there are no power-ups. All weapons are available from the start. Weapons can 'level up', however, becoming more powerful as the player uses them to score points. There are a selection of 7 weapons that can be used at any given time: The game is designed so that there is almost always a 'right' weapon for any situation. The bosses in the game are designed so that they have multiple 'sections' which, if all destroyed before the 'core' of the boss, will award the players with point bonuses. Being able to apply the right weapons on any different boss is key to obtaining these bonuses. For example, a boss may have two sections located on either side of the screen. You could immediately go up to one and begin shooting it with a vulcan, or you could hover in the centre and hit both at the same time with the side bombs. This would increase your chance of obtaining the bonus before the time limit runs out and the boss self-destructs. The game rewards players for "chaining" enemies of just one of three colors, red, blue, or yellow. Whenever the player kills three enemies that are of the same color, who can obtain a points bonus. This also facilitates faster upgrading of weapons.
