I actually bought a Gameboy advance just to play this game and its sequel in 2003. The game appeared on tv during an advert break on channel 5 and I was absolutely sold on buying the game. I remember having to leave the town of Vale because of what had happened in the sanctum and meeting my very first djin right outside of it. After meeting Ivan, it took me at least a week to level enough to defeat the thieves in the next town over. Everything is a win when it comes to this game, from the music, to the story, to all the friends, summons and powers you gain along the way. I truly miss this, but refuse to pay a crazy amount for Nintendo's online service just to play games they won't allow me to buy.
The battle system is interesting, the leveling system is complex, it's a bit of Pokémon, but if the HM moves were actually useful. Visuals are great and high level op replay-ability. I have done multiple runs through this game series and can't find anything wrong with it. I would like to have my children play this some day.
This is one of those games that were a very important part of my childhood. And I still play it at least twice a year. The sistem is simple enough but at the dame time complex enough to adapt to diferent players and playing styles. I remember the puzzles, the map, the enemies, the story and the music. Is amazing what they did with the music with the limitated bits they had. I show this game to my little cousins and they love it. I hope this game could be accesible to more people, specually, in the future.
If we can bring back "Breath of Fire" we can certainly bring back Golden Sun series as well since it's been stuck on the Gameboy Advance for decades. I brought the game back in 2001 and played the sequel or rather part 2, due to the limitation (as it was meant to be an all-in-one game) on a cartridge. Golden Sun is a classic JRPG that shouldn't be forgotten as the game itself is nearing its 25th anniversary. The characters, the story, classic music and most of all, it's a well-crafted JRPG for its time, Camelot Software did a fantastic job on the games if you ask me. Sure, I have a Nintendo Switch and I could play it on the Swith but I hate paying their online services and I refuse to give them money for it because they treated Golden Sun games as if they don't bring them money to the table. Everything I said also applies to Golden Sun: Lost Age
The Golden Sun series positively influenced my life by deepening my appreciation for storytelling, friendship, and perseverance. As I guided Isaac, Felix, and their companions through a richly layered world, I learned the value of working together and the strength found in empathy. The characters weren’t just heroes—they were people facing hard choices, personal doubts, and the burden of saving their world. That emotional depth stayed with me. What makes Golden Sun a great game is its perfect blend of classic RPG mechanics and unique innovations. The Djinn system added strategy and customization, while the use of Psynergy for both puzzles and combat made the world feel alive and interactive. The music, composed by Motoi Sakuraba, was unforgettable—sweeping, emotional, and atmospheric. The graphics pushed the limits of the Game Boy Advance, immersing players in a visually stunning world. More than just a game, Golden Sun was a journey of growth, courage, and wonder that continues to inspire me today.

The drama! The battles! The sweetness! Every minute of this game is worth playing. The characters are deep and there are great twists. This game should be made accessible forever.
