Story:Ratchet & Clank is a platform/adventure game in a similar vein to the 3D versions of the Rayman, Sonic, Mario, or other games. It involves the two protagonists Ratchet, a furry alien creature, and Clank, a nerdy little robot, going on a quest to find Captain Qwark and ultimately to help save the galaxy.
Ratchet & Clank includes many of the best features of previous similar games, but makes itself unique in a number of ways. Firstly each of the game's levels are huge sweeping vistas with extremely detailed buildings which are visible at all times (i.e. there is no distance fog). This means that a building on the horizon is not just a "backdrop"; in all likelihood Ratchet will be exploring it in a few moments time. Secondly, the game includes a number of sub-games, such as a space fight sequence and a number of turret shoot-outs which are akin to Missile Command in the first person.
The game has over twenty levels (planets) and includes as many real-time cut-scenes which tell the story. Also of note is that the story is non-linear, requiring the player to return to previous levels to complete objectives and to choose between multiple paths forward. There is also a respectable array of weapons, gadgets, and accessories to find or buy as the game progresses, which offer some unique gameplay features.Show more

I first played this game at my cousin's house on his Ps2 and was immediately drawn in to the colorful planets and whimsical art style. I honestly feel this one still holds up today. The series has a great story and fantastic humor. Not to mention the incredible wacky weapons and gadgets.... This is a classic.
I played this game when I was a kid before school and loved the platforming and gunplay the unique gadgets and weapons this game offered such as the swing shot, the thruster pack upgrade for clank, and my all time favorite weapon the suck cannon. I find my self going back to every so often as an adult finding more features that i love with this game, the banger OST from David Bergeaud, the funny witty banter of the characters, and the varitey of tactics to use with a full arsenel.
I'd love to see this game get a PC rerelease so I can force my friends to play it who missed out on it.
I remember I was 10 years old when it came out. I tried the demo on Mediaworld’s PlayStation 2 which was displayed along the videogames aisle. I fell in love with it right away, and that same summer I was gifted a copy. The gadgets, the story, the sound the menu and the map made when you opened them.. man they are iconic. And the soundtrack? Jowai is my favorite. I played it so many times I still remeber it by heart and it is my favorite videogame ever alongside Halo. Please bring it back, we need it for our souls ❤️
