ShadowCaster had an incredible level of detail and interactivity in its environments. The game's slower pace made you really appreciate the scenario. Its unique gameplay is an Action/Adventure hybrid with subtle RPG elements as well, reminiscent of Ultima Underworld with more of an Action focus. Raven Software is an incredibly talented studio that has unfortunately been relegated to making DLC for Activision's Call of Duty franchise. Their legacy should be preserved for future generations to appreciate the impact they made in the early days of 3D gaming.

I remember my dad playing this game when I was a kid. It was one of the first games he showed me that I remember really carrying my love as an RPG in a way. It had solid gameplay and unique gameplay, & story as well.

One of the first RPG that I played as a kid. This was a gateway to others, such as Ultima Series, Final Fantasy, and Elder Scrolls. I really enjoyed the story and how to find different powers to enable you to move forward.

Got this first on floppy, later on CD with massive cut screen improvements music an an extra level. So many nice ideas, realized in a nice way. Did run very smoothly on my 486.
Found this game suddenly back in 1996 when I was playing Ultima Underworld 2, a friend gave me a cracked copy of the floppy version and damn, it was so gorgeously detailed for the time (played it on 486 dx2 80mhz 8mb ram). It is really a shame that this game can't be find anywhere nowadays, except for some copies on EBay or Vinted. WE NEED IT ON DIGITAL STORES ASAP!

As one of the original games of Raven Software, pre-dating even their more well-known titles such as Heretic, Shadowcaster occupies its own unique place in video gaming history. Taking the Wolfenstein 3D engine and modifying it to suit their purposes, Raven spun together a world with surprises around every corner and a wide variety of abilities, puzzle as much as action. In many ways, ShadowCaster was the game which thrust Raven into the limelight, leading directly to their acquisition later on by Activision and a long, winding course. While it's as rough as any other game of the era by modern standards, ShadowCaster is still a very enjoyable and unique look at where it truly began for a company which endures to this day, and a perfect example of an under-appreciated title well-suited for curation!

Medal of Honor: European Assault
Medal of Honor: European AssaultThere are four overall areas the player (as Lt. William Holt) will be sent to: France, North Africa, the Soviet Union and Belgium. Each area has a set of missions for the player to complete. While some objectives will be detailed from the start, exploration of the area will cause Holt to discover more missions. Each mission consists of five elements: a primary objective, secondary objectives, killing a German officer (Nemesis battle in the game), obtaining documents from the officer and escaping. If all are completed, a gold medallion will be given. Missing one or two will gain a silver or bronze. Most missions involve Holt fighting alongside allied NPCs and working towards a common objective, often based on historical events during WWII. However, as a member of the OSS, Holt also has secondary objectives for each level, including finding documents and eliminating important German officers, such as henchmen belonging to the antagonist Graf Von Schrader.
