by Slipgate Ironworks, 3D Realms, Knights Peak, Saber Interactive
Genres:Strategy, Real Time Strategy (RTS)
Themes:Action, Warfare, Science fiction
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Tempest Rising seamlessly merges the classic action of real-time strategy (RTS) games from the ‘90s and 2000s with modern production and performance standards. Encounter a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. In the fallout from the war, a strange red electrical vine known as Tempest started spreading across the planet and changed the course of history. Tempest Rising gives players full command as they build up their bases, lead armies into battle, and execute bold strategies to emerge victorious. Experience the story of two different factions across two campaigns with deep and rewarding gameplay that keeps the focus on strategy and skill, with built-in customization options that let players approach the game their own way in both single-player and multiplayer.Show more

C&C ist deeply burrowed in my Heart. Tempest Rising ist the closest to that for decades. The OST fits, the Single Player Missions seem to have the wack I crave.
This is one of the most exciting RTS releases of the past decade. It'd be great to see this game on GOG. Tempest Rising is an excellent RTS inspired greatly by Command and Conquer games, especially Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars.

So Tempest Rising on gog only makes sense if they add a LAN Option and has a self build card management. Maybe gog should also wait for a final version including dlc's or all factions.

It would be fantastic if GOG could introduce a pre-order/pledge system for games that developers haven't yet committed to listing on the platform. Imagine GOG approaching developers with data demonstrating significant player interest – "Here's the number of users who have pledged to purchase your game, and here's the amount already collected." This would be a powerful incentive for developers to agree to a GOG listing and guarantee immediate revenue upon release. If a deal can't be reached, or the agreed price is unfavorable, the pledged funds could be refunded to users. This could greatly expand GOG's catalog and benefit both players and developers.
Won't buy on steam. Don't cry about low sales later if it is only on steam, I would love more C&C like games unfortunatly EA destroyed that series. Hopefully no micro tranactions.

Looks interesting and I'd be willing to buy it if it wasn't a Steam exclusive. Simply because even if it is really good, I have no intention of investing in something that has DRM.
Those games also need your vote!

Dwarf Fortress
Dwarf FortressIn this complex construction/management/roguelike simulation, every generated world brings a unique challenge, whether it’s dwarves with their own simulated personalities or aquifers.
