I remember playing this game with my cousins and we wanted to make the most stereotypical mafia mob we could think of. We ended up making my cousin Andrea (one of us) with moustache: we were crying laughing. The game is fan, the story is great (it's the Godfather after all) and I'm sentimentally attached to it. I want this game in my collection and keep it forever. So, one day, I could meet my cousins, start this game and make the same character just older and laugh like we did that day
I've been looking for this game for years. I would really like it to be somewhere to buy, I really liked this game as a child. I played on Playstation 2, finished about 10 times and still played The Godfather 2 which I thought was kind of bad.
An amazing game, i had this on Xbox then again on either PS3 or Xbox 360, i forget which and the next gen version blew my mind more as during fist fights, if you got hit, your character would gain facial bruising. This would then take several in game days to heal and i thought it was a nice touch.

Look, I know this could be impossible due to copyrights and stuff, but this game desperately needs to be rescued. Even if folks need to strip everything related to The Godfather IP. It's just so good to play and all its mechanics work very well.

I actually first played this game on the Wii! This game and its sequel were developed by EA Redwood Shores, who eventually changed their name to Visceral Games -- AKA, the studio that gave us the Dead Space series. For a time, they were responsible for some fantastic entries in the movie tie-in genre, such as it was, giving us The Godfather I and II, as well as the beloved The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. The Godfather, like a lot of these games on the Dreamlist, was not necessarily the top of the mountain as far as mafia games go. It was, however, a very strong attempt to create a parallel narrative to the film, with you taking on the role of a recruit in the Corelone family. Several of the original voice actors reprise their roles, and even Marlon Brando himself recorded lines for what would be his final role. (Unfortunately, due to his failing health, Brando's lines were deemed unusable and replaced.) And the story, from what I can remember, is very good, especially if you're a fan of the films. I would say that The Godfather is to the Mafia series what Saints Row was to the GTA series. It's a very creative alternative, but lacking the overall strength of its competitor. A comfortable 2nd place, but that didn't make it any less of a good game. It's from a unique time when we got some truly great movie tie-in games with a lot of work and heart put into them, most of which vanished with the next console generation. I'd love to get the chance to play it again. It's a Godfather game, complete with a beautiful open world, a great story, and some of the original actors. It may not have been Game of the Year material, but it didn't deserve to vanish.

The great movie, the great game adaptation. Now you can play it only if you have a DVD. We need this game on a game platform like GOG! This game must survive! :)

This is the best mafia game. I played this game over and over as a kid. My parents didn’t allow gta games in the house so I had to find alternative games, luckily The godfather is their favorite movies of all time so this was an easy sell. One of the first games I ever 100% I had it on multiple consoles too. The dons edition wat the best!

This game should have a PC port! This game is incredible and I used to play it alot when I was a kid. The combat in this game is very unique and you can shove enemies around, throw them through a window, etc. There's alot you can do.

Essentially what Ghostbusters: The Game done but with The Godfather franchise. You play as a rookie that's doing jobs for the Corleone family. Some would easily compare this to Mafia series. This was one of the best licensed GTA clones I ever played!!! There was a bit of realism with some great mechanics to balance things out. You never too well stacked in this game. Always expect things to go wrong you'll be fine. This also was the last video game to star the late Marlon Brando before he passed. A particular late in game cut scene he reprised the role of Don Corleone. I'm also aware there's a few versions of this game. Honestly if you guys can give us the most complete version it would be greatly appreciated. They also brought a lot of iconic moments from the original movie in as well. If you're a huge fan of The Godfather series. You're absolutely going to love this game. Parts of this reminds me of Saints Row series to a degree. Mostly in some aspects of the game play. I haven't played this in a long time. I previously had this on PS2 years ago, I do recalled beating the game. This is easily one of the best games of it's style.

This game is actually what introduced me to the Godfather. It’s rough in certain places, but the story is quite faithful to the themes of the movie and the open-world gameplay is really fun. I loved going around, finding collectibles and taking over different businesses controlled by the rival crime families. It’s an underrated gem released in a time when movie licensed games were almost universally lazy, poorly-made slop. It should be available digitally so that more people can enjoy it and appreciate what it was trying to do.

The Dark Eye
The Dark EyeThe Dark Eye is a computer game of the horror genre, released in 1995 for the PC by the now-defunct software company Inscape. Upon its release the game attracted little attention from either critics or consumers, though it has received some attention since and, arguably, cult status. The game featured combined 3-D graphics, stop motion animation and video segments. With its unconventional interface, storyline, and characters, the game's peculiarity became its selling point. The characters are largely lifelike in appearance except for their clay-modeled faces, which are often distorted or feature grotesquely exaggerated features. This near-realism, sometimes referred to as the uncanny valley, contributed to the game's ambience of unease and anxiety. The character animation is stop-motion. Inscape did the art design of the puppets (lead artist Bruce Heavin) and had a Hollywood house actually make them. Inscape then hired two stop-motion animators and Russell Lees spent many, many hours in a hot, dark warehouse directing the animations. The working hours were from 7 am to 7 pm for about a month. They created computer-generated screenshots of the environments and shot against blue-screen, and they had a director of photography light them to match the environment. Also notable was the use of author William S. Burroughs as a voice actor: Burroughs provided not only the voice for the character of Edwin, but also voiceovers of two slide-show sequences illustrating the short story "The Masque of the Red Death" and the poem "Annabel Lee". Another story, "The Premature Burial", can be found while reading the newspaper during "The Tell-Tale Heart", and the poem "To Helen" can be read while playing the victim in "Berenice". Thomas Dolby composed the game's music. ------------------- Structurally, the game was a point-and-click adventure fueled by the macabre stories of Edgar Allan Poe. The player could experience three of the stories ("The Cask of Amontillado", "The Tell-Tale Heart", and "Berenice") from the perspectives of both murderer and victim. The game presented no choices to make, no life-or-death decisions, and no points; similar to other point-and-click adventures like Myst, the game simply waited for the player to find the next hotspot or location, at which point another video would play to advance the plot. During the portions that were direct interpretations of Poe's stories, the player was constrained to follow the actions of the stories' characters. The player could carry only one item at a time. Much of the animation in The Dark Eye consisted of QuickTime movies, either full-screen or smaller looping segments framed by a static background. -------------------------
