This is the sixth console generation version of Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Unlike its next-generation counterpart, this version was developed by Ubisoft Montreal, the folks behind the original Splinter Cell as well as Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory. This one still has a stealth meter (and not the binary visibility system that later titles featured) and sound meter. It's essentially Chaos Theory 2, and I'd love to be able to play it without having to dig my original Xbox out of mothballs.
Please bring the old-gen (Xbox/PS2/etc) version of DA to PC! It is the better version of Double Agent because it plays more like Chaos Theory. The new-gen (PS3/X360/PC) versions of Double Agent change too much and I don't like it. I would rather have OG Xbox Double Agent get a PC port! Playing it on an emulator just isn't the same when it doesn't have good mouse/keyboard support, and aiming my gun with controller thumbsticks is horribly slow and inaccurate compared to mouse and keyboard!
I don't know which versions is superior to be brought to GOG. We could have the Milan and Shanghai version or the Montreal release. The Montreal is considered not the cannon versions of the game. But man, playing the Shanghai & Millan release on PC is so f@#Ked that it crashed so hard my PC always restart. That's the Steam version at least. But on the Ubisoft Connect version, that issue seemingly gone and I played it fine from start to finish and it's fine.
So if the GOG team ported the builds, I recommend they took the UC build and job's done. No hard crashes no nothing. The thing is though, I'm not touching that damn launcher. EVER!
Command & Conquer: The First DecadeCommand & Conquer: The First Decade is a compilation of the Command & Conquer series' games published from 1995 to 2003, all bundled into one DVD and updated to run optimally on Windows XP. Set during the aftermath of an apocalyptic pandemic, the game pits its four protagonists—dubbed the "Survivors"—against hordes of the infected. There are four game modes: a single-player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op campaign mode; an eight-player online versus mode; and a four-player survival mode. In all modes, an artificial intelligence (AI), dubbed the "Director", controls level pacing and item placements, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.
Left 4 Dead was well received by the industry media upon its release, with praise given for its replay value, focus on cooperative play, and movie-like experience. The popularity of the game led to the development of a sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, which was released November 17, 2009. Left 4 Dead 2 was released on Mac OS X via Steam on October 5, 2010, and the original Left 4 Dead was released for the Mac soon after on October 28, 2010. The Mac version of Left 4 Dead 2 incorporated a new map for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, called "The Sacrifice".
