Oh man such a fun game, though I played the N64 version which I enjoyed a lot. The music and stuff sounded different. No idea how this would get ported to PC but would be nice. The nostagia is doing a lot of heavy lifting though because looking at the screen shots show how blocky the vehicles really are. I also enjoyed the sequel Second offense which was a nice followup. When I heard about the xbox version that came out much later I got excited only to see it was only for xbox which was a let down. Plus looked like it was more simplified Vigilante game with slightly updated graphics. Really stinks we haven't really had any fun new vehicle combat games in a long time. Last one I remember seeing was more like a destruction derby setting which just isn't that interesting to me. I want more 60-80's style vibe with classic vehicles with machine guns attached to them! lol
Only 178 votes for this classic?? didn't it start the trend of vehicules with weapons ??? incredible game so fun, we need a comeback !!! there has been some games today that recapture it, but not with a succesfull online, it's a shame because that would be a banger
Me and the bros would play 4-player splitscreen on the N64 all the time instead of studying for finals. The fun characters, deformable terrain, combo moves, special attacks, interactive levels, and cheats made it a blast to play. A faithful port on PC with modern controller support and optional graphics enhancements would be worthy of a full retail price for me!

I grew up with a demo on PlayStation 1. In later years, I fully experienced the Nintendo 64 version. I gotta make something crystal clear. Yes it's a car combat game like Twisted Metal series. I also can argue how it differs from that. I even ended up preferring this over most of them. The goal isn't simply destroy all your opponents. They were quite creative to get every characters objectives within the stages. This helped made playing as them a notably different experience. The soundtrack quickly grows on you. The sound effects are truly fantastic as well. This game actually made it easier to replay because of those objectives. You also can save your process that covers every characters. Which was quite ambitious at the time to do. Even considering the Nintendo 64 version the audio difference didn't change much. The controls I argue was better than Twisted Metal series. My mind was blown the more I played this game. The same company also made Interstate '76 series. Vigilante 8 is packed with content to keep you busy for hours. A good variety of modes especially having an friend or family member with ya. This is easily among my favorite car combat games I ever played!!!

This game was awesome, and even since today have not played anything like this one. was super fun when played split screen on ps1. shoot enemies and upgrade your car. missions were cool, though sometimes upgrading your vehicle was not that easy, but that med it fun.
Played on PlayStation 1! Good memories 🥲! Anyway the game is Funny, crazy to tie, frantic and ..... Did I say funny? Full of cutscenes that try to explain the plot, even if it's not necessary! The important thing is to shoot and run, with those crazy cars and surreal characters that will make you die of laughter. Recommended!
Those games also need your vote!

Nuclear Strike
Nuclear StrikeNuclear Strike is a shooter video game developed and published by Electronic Arts for the PlayStation in 1997. The game is the sequel to Soviet Strike and the fifth instalment in the Strike series, which began with Desert Strike on the Sega Genesis. The Soviet Strike development team also created Nuclear Strike. EA released a PC port the same year; THQ developed and in 1999 published a Nintendo 64 version called Nuclear Strike 64. Nuclear Strike is a helicopter-based game, with strategy elements added to the action gameplay. The plot concerns an elite special force - the player's allies - pursuing a nuclear-armed rogue spy through a fictionalised Asian setting. It retained the earlier game's engine but added several modifications to improve graphical performance and make the game more accessible. The game features 15 playable vehicles, a large increase from previous games. In addition to the main fictionalised Apache, there are secondary helicopters, jets, armour and a hovercraft. The player also commands ground troops in occasional real-time strategy sections. The game received positive, negative and mixed reviews. Critics noted a weak storyline, though GameSpot dismissed this is as unimportant in an action game. GameSpot called the graphics - which made use of specialised hardware such as 3Dfx Voodoo video cards and the N64 Expansion Pak - "about as good as it gets", while Allgame said they are "decent" and Daily Radar called them "horrible". Critics praised the full motion video as well as the music and sound effects. Reviewers enjoyed the straightforward gameplay but several complained of a close similarity to its predecessor Soviet Strike and questioned the game's value as a result.

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
