Hello mortals!

In the asylum/gauntlet the answer to the riddle "Name me so shall you break me" is the bound and gagged man. I understand how the other solutions are connected to the riddles but I don't really get this one.

Cheers,

Jason

It's alluding to keeping a secret (the gagged man). So if you name him (the secret), it's broken.

Huh; I thought it would have been silence (the moment you name Silence, the silence is broken, after all).

You do not break silence by naming the man. The man is a secret.

Edit: the clue is in 'bound and gagged'. Bound by a secret; gagged to keep a secret.

Ah, there's the problem; I interpreted the gagging to be an indicator of silence, and that they "me" was the concept alluded to or something, not the man himself.
It is Silence.

When you tell someone a secret, you do not "break" it. You may break someone's trust in you, or a pact/promise to keep a secret, but not the secret itself, so "Name [a secret] and so shall you break [the secret]" does not work lexically in that way. You lose the secret, as in it is no longer a secret, but I have never heard of a secret being broken.

Silence, however, is very commonly spoken of as being "broken". If you say the word "silence", you will have broken the silence.
