Hello!

Apologies for asking another stupid question. Ioun stones go in to the head slot. They are also egg shaped rocks. How does it stay on your head? It doesn't show up on the in game sprite when I have it equipped.

Ioun stones are magical stones that rotate around the head. Can't be done in the infinity engine or it would have been.

Thanks!
It *can* be done, even in the old BG2 (non-EE), but you need mods for that. Attached is a screenshot from my game. The colored floating things are the ioun stones.

Which were created in BAM Workshop by WoRm.
I do often wonder from which bit of real world mythology/lore ioun stones were inspired by, actually. Ioun stones date all the way back to 1st Ed. D&D, so they've been in the game for a long time. Anybody happen to know?

They're not inspired from real world or mythological sources. Their inspiration came from the Dying Earth novels of Jack Vance, which Gary Gygax absolutely loved.

Ah, neat. I've never heard of that series before. I'll have to check them out sometime. Cheers for the info. :)
