KirkH420: @GOG will you PLEASE organize your Offline Installer file names? Maybe it would help prevent incorrect game patches from being uploaded. I really do not appreciate the fact that I basically must re-install this huge game EVERY time the game needs to be updated. That is not healthy behavior for a SSD.
I've long since given up on trying to patch ANY GoG game using the offline patches.
Their naming in almost all of the games are messed up like this. But Dying Light is way worse in this regard than Cyberpunk 2077 - Cyberpunk 2077 at least tells you which game version you are already on.
So I'm downloading the entire game over again whenever there is a patch that I want to install. However, to save myself some hassle, I'm skipping most of the sub-patches (like 1.6 to 1.63). Also, every new patch breaks every mod I use, every damn time.
If you got a dedicated SSD for your games, like you should, there is no problem. Unless you bought some cheap-ass WD Green or Kingston A400, it can easily handle a game install now and then.
You got something good, like a Samsung EVO 2 TB, with 1200 TBW endurance, roughly speaking you can install a 250 GB game every single day for 13 years before it dies. If you install a 250 GB game every week, it will last you 92 years.
So don't worry about it. :)
