I have been noticing a large number of pirated/counterfeit goods on Amazon lately with it seemingly growing every day. I still don't understand how Amazon's Twitch Prime gave away GOG's version of Metal Slug 3 earlier this month. Although we don't know what is happening behind the scenes (perhaps GOG and Amazon have an agreement?), this is troubling due to the lack of communication from GOG or Amazon about this.

the game does not belong to gOg, but to SNK. So if there is a deal it is between SNK and Amazon. SNK are allowed to do what they want with the files, it is their property.

This is why i'm very careful of third-party sellers on sites like Amazon. I remember getting scammed on ebay with poor quality counterfeit GBA carts. Thankfully the seller refunded my cash after I called them out on it. Gamestop on the other hand kept selling such carts even after I pointed out they were in their inventory.

I have to say, I'm a little confused. I thought Amazon is a store, not an ebay like "bazaar" platform where people can just start selling their random shit. Ah well, whatever it is, it's something for GOG to deal with. Though probably GOG in it's entirety is worth less than Amazon's lawyers make in an hour.

Someone successfully duped Amazon into thinking he/she has the rights to distribute those games. It's the equivalent of me emailing to GOG that I has the rights to No One Lives Forever (as evidenced by this handwritten note signed by Cate Archer herself) and I want to sell the game on their store. What confuses me is that apparently a business as big as Amazon didn't do basic legal checks to ensure the distribution rights claim is valid.

They will sell anything on AMAZON.

I've read what people wrote and unless gog is in some type of agreement with amazon I say sue the shit out of Bezos; he has waay too much money along with some others; while poor don't have a proper meal or none at all.
The shit amazon is pulling with facial recognition and other things makes me even less interested in buying from them.
Gog is selling us DRM free games in good faith, we are lucky to have this store. But if a corporation is blatantly copying and reselling games at a lower cost distributed by Gog; they are screwing developers as well. This is not right and I hope CDP does something about it.

Also Amazon do indeed have an Ebay style used marketplace, though I don't think it applies here (?).
