I recall some 80s comedy, possibly Tom Hanks' "Big" (no it was probably not that, that had the fortune teller machine...), had some fictional adventure game where he was stuck in a place what to do with the wizard that is blocking his way.
Upon seeing that, it dawned to me that (point'n'click) adventure games really suck as a game genre, even if that fictional adventure game exaggerated the problem they have. Yeah, that is what most adventure games were like, you were stuck in some situation because you couldn't right away figure out the "puzzle" that was blocking you, which mainly just was you had to figure out the right kind of sentence, or else.
"pee on the wizard" => you die
"yell at the wizard" => you die
"kick the wizard" => you die
"offer a potion of poison to wizard" => you win! Congrats! Man you are clever, you used the exact words the game was expecting to let you continue! Now, on to the next "Guess the right words"-puzzle...
