Apparently, this news always comes with the mention of an Apple Arcade release of the game. I wonder, does that mean it will be an Apple/Mac exclusive? Or even an IPhone game?
Anyway, there is a trailer already.

Huh... from what I remember, the BS1 remaster only added an extra bit where you play as Nico and the rest of the spritework and cutscenes were identical. I don't think the BS2 remaster even added anything, I'm pretty sure it was just "make it run on Windows 7 and stick some filters on it". While not my idea of a good remaster, I don't remember the art changing at all.
Can you post an comparison to point out what you mean?
EDIT: Oh hang on, I remember now! You mean the portraits they added? Well at least the original sprite work survived...

So I heard, but this doesn't appear to be a known studio, and Technobabylon exists, so we'll see.

I don't like this cartoonish and colorful colours' palette in the trailer. Is a world after enviroemntal cataclysm and everything is neat anc clean.

I also wish they would stick to 2D and the dirty look of BASS.

It's wholesome that beloved games from the past can find a new life in the form of unexpected sequels. Of course, there's the risk that the new game won't be as good, but that doesn't detract anything from the enjoyment you get from the original. I wish some of my childhood point-and-click games received this treatment.
On another note, this reminds me I need to play Beneath a Steel Sky.
