DubConqueror: If Kotaku is right my interest wiil be zero.
Yeah pretty much. Might buy it in some super sale down the road just to play around with the lore and world a bit, but I won't have any real interest or passion for it. It's a shame they went this route instead of a New Vegas style spinoff, but considering today's market and what's popular you can hardly blame them. This should do very well for them.

Starfield is the real next Bethesda project, and should hopefully be singleplayer focused like usual.

gogamess: Looks like a Fallout MMO. What about The Elder Scrolls VI ? ^_^
They said they had two other new games to release before TES6. We knew one of them was Starfield, a new sci-fi IP, and now we know this is the other one. TES6 should be after that, maybe in like 2021-22 or so.

I don't even know what possessed me to buy "Fallout" 3. I wish they had just given it a different name, so it doesn't keep tugging at my desire for a new Fallout-like game. Funny that they pretty much abandoned the West coast, and now their games are slowly creeping West. This game sounds as far removed from anything I liked about Fallout as they could possibly get, but I'm sure their next iteration will prove me wrong. People standing next to me on the bus were pretty stoked about a new "Fallout", though.

Have you tried New Vegas? I thought it was as close to perfect as a first person Fallout could get. Unfortunately I feel it will never be topped as Bethesda is taking the franchise in a very different direction.

You might be right, but I never really wanted a first-person (or third-person for the pedants) Fallout. I avoided it when it came to the stores because Fallout 3 burned me out. Bought it when it came to gog against my better judgement because everyone says it fixes everything wrong with Fallout 3, but it doesn't. One thing it at least did right is not try to make me care about an NPC moron as my "father" and make me go through a horrid, drawn out tutorial/character gen. Maybe I'll get back to it one day.

Zadalon: To be or not to be excited?
How could you be excited about another DRM-laden game that'll likely never see the light of GOG? Then again, it's probably dull gameplay like the other Bethesda open-world games, so it's not like we'd be *missing* it here really.
Sadly multiplayer's also an instant turn-off for me. Depending on how it turns out I might give it a go if the MP isn't too important but if it's anything that's likely to grow into grief central I simply won't bother.

@the steam integration thing, I'm skeptical about that. This sounds like the perfect game to use the Bethesda launcher/network whatever thing, both to get people to use it's service and to not have to share on the microtransactions which are likely to exist. Paid modding perhaps too?

... meh

I start to consider looking forward to it a year or so after they managed to get FO4 & Skyrim released here.
Let's be honest why Bethesda gets as much hate as they do. They took a beloved turn based RPG, and made a First Person Sandbox game out of it, while calling it an Action RPG(because you can add points to stats, and that's all you need to slap an RPG tag on any game). That's why I hated Fallout 3 and didn't even bother with Fallout 4. That's why most people hated the Bethesda titles. HOWEVER, we also got Fallout 3: New Vegas, which to me is the true Fallout sequel.

I stopped hating on Bethesda, because they are actually very good at developing/publishing great action games, even if they aren't my favorite genre of games. I also stopped hating on them, once I realized that they had the decency to stay away from the California area, where the proper Fallout games take place. I just view the Fallout 3/4 games as being a separated universe/timeline.

I would love a new turn based RPG Fallout game, developed by Obsidian/Inxile in their Pillars/Wasteland game engine, and we might just get it eventually, if the Fallout franchise can be milked long enough by Bethesda. So... sure... A Fallout MMO. Herve was faking to do it, retardedly threatening us that the "Master is alive".

Bethesda-made RPGs are trash. I'm not excited at all. I'm not sure why anyone ever buys that crap.

There is no "3" in the New Vegas title. It's a completely different game than Fallout 3. And the only reason why New Vegas is good is because Bethesda didn't make it.

I'm not surprised people make that mistake since New Vegas did keep the same leap in gameplay changes FO3 made

Of course there is a 3. The New Vegas story started from the script developed for Van Buren. Both games are the work of Josh Sawyer. We all know that it's Fallout 3. Just as we ALL know DOOM 4, Rambo 4, Rocky 6.

Spoilers: It wasn't a mistake.

Unless they hand it over to a more competent dev and pull a Fallout New Vegas, I don't care and won't buy. Hell, I still wont buy if they have paid mods, DRM or other such cankers.
You guys are a cheery, positive bunch.

LOL. Personally I don't hate Bethesda and did enjoy all 5 Elder Scolls games (Arena to Skyrim). But looking at Elder Scrolls Online though, it's hard to not expect any "Fallout Scrolls Online" MMORPG to be a huge-grind fest for which you can part-degrind by "renting" the game for $155-$180 per year as part of your de-crippled "Fallout Online Plus experience"...
