I bought Blood Bowl 2 on Steam a little while back, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm tempted to re-buy it on GOG now it's here, but I wanted to check how cross play on this sort of game works. The product page for Blood Bowl 2 does say "Cross-platform multiplayer is supported".

I have Divinity Original Sin 2, and the Direct Connect option worked fine with a steam person, but the "lobby" stuff didn't seem to be (at least not with Steam players too). So I'm not entirely confident it will work without hassle. What are people's experiences of multiplayer releases like this that come to GOG a few years after they've been on Steam - does cross play generally work fine, with everyone, or is it more hit-and-miss?

It's maybe worth noting that the multiplayer experience of Blood Bowl 2 on Steam is a bit jank, at least for the case of wanting to play in a league with just one friend, as I'd been doing; it always seemed to take around 2-5 minutes of "searching for opponents" for the game to actually start.

Really fun game, though, as long as you go into it aware that the dice rolls are really random, meaning it will feel brutally unfair sometimes :)
