viperfdl: I rather hoped for more new quests, new weapons, new bike parts. Maybe even a new area to explore.
Would be nice but Im guessing Bend is overworked + Sony doesnt want to spend more money.
Days is basically a cult hit. Its initial release was terrible and the purpose of this remaster is 100% to gauge fan interest to see if Sony should invest in a sequel or just cut their losses and possibly merge Bend into another studio (there were rumors of Bend merging into Naughty Dog in the past).
Prior to this, Bend was working on a new IP was is a now cancelled live-service game so they werent working on making more content for Days. Im guessing these new modes are relatively easy to implement (take permadeath from TLoU Part 2, not sure how speedrun mode works) and these would be "easy wins" to entice a remaster buy.
Days ends at a clear cliffhanger so I do hope this does well enough to encourage a sequel although I honestly have mixed feelings since the original directors of the game have both left Bend so a sequel will likely be made by new directors (which usually doesnt end well).
